  • Mike

Glad to see Y&R over 5 mil on Monday. I don’t even remember what happened that day or the Friday before. Been really bored with the show lately. But still glad to see it rise.

    Really happy for B&B.

What happened to GH on Friday. That is a big big drop from Thursday to Friday.

  • cc

Love/hate to see Days down, but TIIC have destroyed what was a great soap.

GH on the right track, hope it continues.

  • Derrick

Happy Y&R and B&B are up! Should get interesting with both coming up!

What on earth happened to DAYS?

  • Andy

Was the Presdiental press conference during the ratings period. It almost pre-empted an entire GH episode. GH has really been running on all cylinders and should bounce back next week.

  • Bexx

AWESOME week for Y&R. :-) It’s nice to see them trying to battle back. I imagine with the Delia tragedy they will get another bump in the coming weeks.

Nothing happened to GH just déjà vu again, they ride high for a couple weeks then proceed to take their rightful place at the bottom. ABC knows it’s product, except their fans always expect a different outcome.

    YR!

Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautil has lost a viewer. Killing of children and the HOPEless story is terrible. I have watched soap for years my favorite being Guiding Light and As the World Turns. So today is the day that I remove both and the last soaps from my DVR. Goodbye soaps! Moving on

  • moshane58

Gh looses viewers when it is so good? Something surprising all the time now..

  • Mike

I Googled and didn’t come up with a Presidential Conference on the 4th. There was one on the 8th that aired during GH’s timeslot but not on the 4th according to Google.

  • Mike

The Chew and GH have turned into a great combination for ABC. Both of GH’s highest days Monday and Thursday were good days for The Chew too. Those were the #2 and #3 highest ever ratings for The Chew in 18-49.

People for a long time have been posting about how far The Chew is behind GH in the key demos. The Chew has grown 44% in the last year in the 18-49 demo.

GH is 1.1 and The Chew is .9 in the 18-49.

The View is turning out to be the weakest link in their lineup now.

  • Mike

Correction — they have grown 48%. I looked at it wrong. Here is the stuff from the press release.

Year to year, “The Chew” soared by double digits across all key measures, including by 15% in Total Viewers (2.598 million vs. 2.251 million), by 48% in Women 18-49 (587,000 vs. 397,000) and by 33% in Women 25-54 (686,000 vs. 515,000).

    And GH’s too:

Year to year, “General Hospital” climbed by 14% in Women 18-34 (263,000 vs. 231,000), by 8% in Women 18-49 (718,000 vs. 663,000) and by 9% in Women 25-54 (921,000 vs. 844,000).

There was no mention of The View in the press release.

GH, was prempted on the 4th in the state of new mexico for 30 mins.. That explains fridays rating. jus sayin :)

  • lizziemarie

robert fav gh person ever.please stay and get back with anna.

  • j

Y&R had a great week.It will be interesting to see what happens when JG isn’t the head writer.Days has characters I like but JJ & Theresa are not two of them.If Rafe can be walking again by sweeps I will be so happy.Bring back John and Bo or do something with Hope.Kristen is remarkable still after 30 yrs.Bo/Hope and Marlena/John could bring life to Days.

  • moshane58

forgot about some of he west coast getting cut off from GH last Friday…

  • James

Glad to see the soaps I watch, YR and GH doing good. Days needs to pick it up.

  • robert sprague

as I was saying gh loses viewers when the vets are not on . I rest my case. robins come back did nothing for the ratings . better off spending the money on genie francis emma samms or Jackie zeman. learn abc and frank and ron learn .

  • Shelly

good to see all soaps up compared to last year when daytime execs were doing everything they could to kill off the genre.

  • Marissa

GH was preempted for 35-40 minutes here in Atlanta on 10/4, too.

  • Mike

My “Days” is up and down, really don’t think it will crack 3 million anytime soon. The JJ/Theresa thing is sickening, and MUST GO!! We need more Nicole/Brady, Stefano/Marlena scenes, and Rafe needs to start walking soon, and stop making GOO GOO eyes at that dopey therapist, Jordan. I read that Carly, Steve, Stephanie, Melanie, Frankie, Kim, and Shane are coming back. Hopefully that can liven things up a bit, cause right now, except for Nicole, and some barbs from Victor, it is really not that good. Jennifer is such a woosey, that character used to be so strong, now she is totally whipped by her bratty son, I can’t stand it!! I will still watch, and hopefully see some improvements soon.

  • Jeff

Preempted in NC too. So, I am assuming ratings would have been much closer to the previous week’s had Friday not been pre-empted. Either way, still up over last year is great!
