    @The Booper

    The Bears game wasn’t on the Chicago CW (WGN), Vampire Diaries aired as scheduled.

  • Petar

    @Michael

    Next week start basseball games so no factor.

    @Petar

    I doubt NBC’s midseason comedies will end up on Tuesday post-the Voice. they’re scheduling was likely just a place holder. Those 2 comedies will be needed to fill the gaps from NBC’s 2 failed shows from this fall.

    NBC’s midseason schedule won’t look anything like their promo material because Ironside is dead now as well.

    I expect Chicago PD to get the comfy post-Voice slot, and The Night Shift to take Ironside’s place.

    If NBC keeps 2 hours of comedies then Parks/Growing Up Fisher/About A Boy/Michael J Fox will be the lineup. If similar failure ensues, their new “Home Makeover” reality show can sub in at 8pm on Thursdays in the Spring. If not that they will also have The Bible sequel they could schedule Thursday ay 8pm.

    @Petar

    You would think that TBL would fit the spot, but what will NBC due when the Voice takes its 2 to 3 month hiatus in Jan.. They would have nothing.

    Private Practice was doing better at this point of its run. It didn’t prevent it from ending in the low 1s.

    Yes, I actually like private practice a lot more than greys.. It’s hard not a lot of shows can last 10 years even if they are the biggest hits at TV. Things happen. The stars on the show want to leave for different reasons.. The viewership changes.. TV changes as well.. It’s hard if I had to guess I would say it wouldn’t last 10 years. Only because chances are against it happening to most.

    I was expecting the CW to go down because the preemption but still good for TVD and the Originals repeat did pretty good.

    @Petar
    I thought Gorman was predicting first to be won by either CBS or FOX this year. Maybe I am misquoting him but I didn’t think the Superbowl had that much sway in determining the winner, especially since FOX is struggling mightily this year again with their former star players. I don’t see how NBC has any chance of first since absence of The Voice and Sunday Night Football just kills them when they are out of cycle/season. First place in the Fall + last place in the Spring does not equal first place for the year.

    I know TVD will inevitably go below 1.0 but I hope its not before it passes 100 episodes

  • Petar

    @eridapo

    Winter games will save them. And they are 2 weeks. TBL 2 hours on thursday is far better than TBL 1 hour on tuesday. And on tuesda the voice clip show can do same or better ratings.

    CrimTv,So you’re one of those psycho supernatural fan who is praying for TVD’s failure every week!!

    Nonsense, I haven’t seen CrimTv doing any of that..

  • Ultima

    @DenverDean
    People forget that TBBT didn’t hold it’s lead-in audience for a long time.

    What on earth are you talking about? That’s complete nonsense! Do you even bother to look at ratings before posting garbage like this?! :roll:

    The Big Bang Theory only aired eight original episodes before the writer’s strike in its first season. ALL of them grew out of its HIMYM lead-in; after the strike, CBS moved it to 8pm because it was the stronger show.

    Only one season two episode had a lead-in, and that was a 9:30pm airing which held 94% of its lead-in and hit a series high, earning it a permanent move to that timeslot the next season.

    In its third season, The Big Bang Theory was the highest rated scripted show on TV and outperformed its Two and a Half Men lead-in for the entire season!

    Since then, it’s been airing at 8pm on Thursdays.

    There you go, an original episode of The Big Bang Theory has done worse in Adults 18-49 than its lead-in exactly ONCE during its entire run, and that was an out-of-timeslot airing which held 94%.

    People didn’t forget, you just don’t have a clue.

  • j

    Maybe CBS should go back to 3 hours of comedy.

    And/or move stuff around some more. Maybe Bang/Crazy Ones/Half Men/Millers?

  • Kate

    @Nasir – I agree. TVD was at its best when Kevin Williamson was involved, Julie Plec completely ruined it. I don’t even think he could fix it now. Plus, he has The Following which is infinitely better.

  • Dorothy5334

    Ultima,

    I don’t think so, but to be honest I’ve been fast forwarding most of it recently.. It just doesn’t interest me anymore.. It seems to be missing a few different things since last year.

  • Max

    Vampire Diaries was on last night? I thought CW showed football?

  • Fake Me Out

    No time to read all the comments so apologies if this is a repeat but …

    Deadline reports NBC finish last night in 7th … 7TH! place behind the other big 3 + NFL Network, Univision and TBS. Holy crap on a cracker how the mighty have fallen and apparently can’t get up … quick, someone get them one of of those medic alert pendants.

    @Mark Wood – Thank you. Supernatural has been on every night of the week except Monday’s through their years. The fans are well aware the impact preemptions have on the shows. We’ve been on this roller coaster before and usually know what to expect. I’m not sure I understand the negativity being posted. Are we not supposed to be happy our show did well? TVD will bounce back. I have no doubt. I DO doubt it’ll bounce back to 1.3-1.5?s but never say never.

    Very we’ll put.. I like people having their own favorite shows and not bashing on others..

  • whoooaadude

    Everything is down this week, whooooa. I think Revolution is officially safe and so is The Mindy Project.

  • Petar

    the voice repeat can and will beat these comedies on thursday. May be even svu repeats will be better.

  • Dorothy5334

    Kate
    Last night’s episode of Scandal wasn’t as great as the premiere but it was still good. Surprised TVD dropped

    I agree scandal has been amazing as of recently but last nights episode was good but not as GREAT as others have been.

    I would’ve been surprised for TVD except it was pre-empted. If it stays this rating next wk. I’ll be really surprised…
