MTV ANNOUNCES “Teen Wolf” SEASON FOUR AND THE NEW “WOLF WATCH” COMPANION SERIES TODAY AT NEW YORK COMIC-CON

New York, NY (October 12, 2013)—MTV announced today to a crowd of screaming “Teen Wolf” fans at New York Comic-Con that the hit series will return for a fourth season in 2014 with 12 new episodes.  Additionally, the network will debut the new talk show “Wolf Watch” set to air weekly after each “Teen Wolf” episode. The highly anticipated second half of “Teen Wolf” season three will begin on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT directly followed by the “Wolf Watch” series premiere.

Today’s panel featured on-screen son and father duo “Stiles” and “Stilinski” played by Dylan O’Brien and Linden Ashby, respectively as well as Executive Producer Jeff Davis and was moderated by TV Guide Magazine Senior Writer, Damian Holbrook.

“Wolf Watch” will be hosted by Jill Wagner, who plays “Kate Argent” in “Teen Wolf.” The half-hour talk show will give fans even more insight into the hit series, covering topics ranging from the heavy mythology elements featured in the season, to the steamy romances and hilarious bromances that run rampant between the series’ Supernatural high-schoolers.  The series will welcome guest appearances by “Teen Wolf” cast members sharing behind-the-scenes secrets and celebrity super fans will also drop in to get some of the answers viewers crave from week to week.

These announcements come on the heels of a hugely successful first half of season three in which the show averaged a 2.5 P12-34 rating and 2.8 million total viewers each week, making it the highest-rated and most-watched season to date.  The first half of season three also ranked as the #1 program in its time slot each week.

To gear up for the second half of season three, fans can purchase a DVD of the first half the season on December 10.  All previously aired episodes are currently available for viewing on MTV.com, iTunes and Hulu with seasons one and two offered to Netflix subscribers.

YAY! But only 12 episodes? :(

  • Ekras

Yeah uhhhh….. shouldn’t the headline read “Teen Wolf Season 4 to be only 12 episodes” ? – it was a given it would be renewed….. and very odd that they would cut the numbers considering how well S3 is doing…..

  • Meg

Wonder why they aren’t splitting the season into two parts again? I rather liked it that way.

I Tried to get into this over the summer when TVD was off but didnt like it. Its Good news for the fans.

    a talk show i thought it was a spin-off that’s actually a god idea

  • P3TE

    that’s great news baby!

@ Ekras – I think that it’s “only” 12 episodes mainly for creative reasons, with the whole 24 episodes in one year very difficult for the very on hands show runner. I would always prefer quality over quantity.

And besides, some of the cast [like Dylan O'Brien] have gotten some pretty big roles and I doubt he could have committed to another 9 month shoot a year [even if it's split in two 4 1/2 months parts].

  • Christian

Oh God, another talk companion show? What have you wrought, AMC?!

  • chrisjozo

    @Ekras

The 24 episode renewal was a result of the tax credits they won last yr. Part of the requirement was that they produce a minimum of 22 episodes. They essentially combined two 12 episode seasons in order to qualify. The show’s creator made it clear to fans that the 24 episode “season” would really be 2 separate seasons loosely connected.

The show is just going back to it’s original 12 episode format. The 24 episode thing was only going to last as long as the tax credits.

  • Shantal

@chrisjozo – yes, but they won the highest Tax credit this year also, so it’s not only because of that.

My Uncle Benjamin got an almost new blue Mercedes S-Class Coupe just by some part time working online with a computer… my website……… gg.gg/kof2

Both 3B and S4 will air in 2014. That’s 24 episodes in ONE YEAR!!!

  • Norman

People, stop making a situation out of nothing. I’m sure close to the 4th season premiere they will announce a 5th season of 12 episodes for summer 2015.

YAY TEEN WOLF. SAD ABOUT THE EPISODE CUT DOWN, THOUGH.
