The fourth season of The Walking Dead premieres tonight at 9PM. Last season opened to a series high 5.8 adults 18-49 rating, and the  finale hit another high with a 6.4 adults 18-49 rating.  Will tonight see another record-setting performance? Or has some of The Walking Dead fever cooled since last season? Make your prediction below and defend your choice in the comments!

    Probably, seems it always does…

I guessed between 5.6 and 6.0. The press has never liked the show and they were badmouthing the premiere. I enjoyed the premiere, but it was a little slow, which might make some people tune out. I also think hype naturally fades over time, especially since the season 3 finale wasn’t some big cliffhanger.

There seems to be a pattern with this show:

    Season Premiere = Series High
    Season Final = Series High

If it continues to follow this pattern, then yes, another series high predicted.

    “best show on tv”

wont set a new high, might rise from last years premiere though.

Wow, this episode was good, bad, and ugly. The good was the amount of development they showed with the community, and all the action (lots of extras and an obvious increase in the budget!), the bad was the continuity errors (only a few, and not reaching plot hole levels), and the ugly was the video game-esque levels of convenience that are such a trope for this genre of storytelling. Hopefully they will abandon the latter, and just stick with the first two. If so, this will be the best season so far.

As for Kirkman spinning his BS about Rick possibly being killed off, it is just a PR stunt. If they were to do that after spending so much time developing him (e.g. the amount of screen time in this episode alone), they would see viewer numbers cut in half. So, while I only predicted a premier in the 5.6 – 6.0 range, I think it will continue to grow if this level of budget is maintained for the subsequent episodes. The post-Frank D. show-runners usually put a lot into the first two and last two episodes, with the rest being bland. So it will take another two to three episodes to see if they have finally broken out of that curve.

As a die hard fan of TWD, i don’t know i feel like it will be around 5.0 -5.5 and 13M viewers.

  • Other Than THAT Mrs Lincoln? How Was The Play?

    Id say 6.66

While the scene where it was literally “raining zombies” was cool, it really made no sense the way it was filmed. Supposedly theres dozens of zombies walking around on the roof of a building for over 1 year and just as the group from the prison arrives, the roof being failing in several different areas ALL AT THE SAME TIME !!! Then the helicopter falls in to make it even more illogical – wouldnt something as heavy as helicopter have collapsed the ceiling long before that? It would have made more sense from the standpoint of logic for just one large hole to appear then zombies would walk near the hole at random invtervals fall inside the building. It strains logic to think so many zombies would happen to walk over several different weak spots within a 1-2 minute time frame at a time when several people happen to be inside scavenging.

  • Other Than THAT Mrs Lincoln? How Was The Play?

Wonder what happened to the boy at the end? All of a sudden he dies without being bit? Maybe he hit puberty? If thats true, then all kids will die and never reach reproductive age and the human race is doomed unless some kids are immune and some arent. Wheres Charlton Heston and Will Smith when you need them?

  • Other Than THAT Mrs Lincoln? How Was The Play?

The need to leave the prison and go on the road and head for Washington DC and tour the Whitehouse to see if Zombie Obamas is still there the head over to Capitol Hill and see how many Congress Zombies are in there.

Is zombie infection covered under Obamacare? Do you still have to pay the deductible if you turn into a Walker?

  • Chris

Well the ratings are out and it killed the 6.6 and the breaking bad finale. Absolutely crushed it! The fans are loyal and the base is growing!

  • chad

Well it got 8.1 with 16 million viewers…….hightest ratings ever for the walking dead and in the key 18-49 demograpic…..hells yeah

It was a little slow last night only because there was a lot going on last season, not familiar with the ratings, but I thought they would hit the roof. Can’t wait to see what happens this season.

I thought it would be the #1 show watched last night
