Will CBS's Monday Schedule Shuffle Help '2 Broke Girls' and 'Mom'? (Poll)

CBS has shuffled its Monday night line-up. We Are Men was canceled after just two airings. Now 2 Broke Girls is replacing it at 8:30, moving from its 9PM anchor spot. Once one of the brightest spots in CBS's line-up, the show has struggled this season. Last week it earned a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, though that number built substantially from We Are Men's 1.8. Will following the still strong How I Met Your Mother help? For the next two weeks, Mom will follow repeats of CBS's highest rated program, The Big Bang Theory. CBS clearly had big expectations for the comedy, which was created by TBBT showrunner Chuck Lorre and stars A-listers Anna Farris and Allison Janney,  Will a new lead-in improve its numbers? Last week it garnered a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.  Make your predictions, then discuss your reasoning in the comments.

2 Broke Girls will probably rise a couple of tenths, but I don’t see Mom going up, it’d be good if it stabilizes at around 2.2 at least or else it won’t be getting a back order.

TBBT reruns helped a lot when last year CBS pulled Partners off the air. The repeats at 8:30 were getting above 3.0 demo. airing at 9 pm will surely help Mom and maybe even Hostages will uptick.

  • Carl

If 2 Broke Girls is one of their brightest spots, no wonder the light has dimmed.

  • Sierra

it will help A LOT! Repets of Big Bang will get above a 3.0 at the very least

  • queeneeuq

2BrokeGirls would probably do well at 8 but only if they did a new plot instead of thr usual apartment/diner every week.

  • Matthew

Why can’t abc shuffle it’s schedule geez

  • Samunto

Most certainly yes. Both comedies should go up noticeably. If they maintain their most recent lows, then we know CBS has a real problem.

  • Matt M.

    2 Broke Girls: 2.5 / 9 million viewers
    MOM: 2.3 / 7 million viewers

TBBT repeats always garner around a 3.0 and at least 10-11 million viewers.

    Other Network Predictions…

    The Voice: 4.4 / 13 million
    The Blacklist: 3.3 / 11.6 million

Dancing with the Stars: 2.3 / 13.5 million
    Castle: 2.1 / 11 million

Having TBBT (albeit) reruns in front of it will surely help Mom.

It has performed OK so far, but is in what turned out to be a ‘harder than anticipated’ spot due to the success of Sleepy Hollow.

What would help it (Mom) even more would be to get a spot on the Thursday night CBS schedule (except for 8:00 of course for obvious reasons)

Mom is at least as good as either Crazy Ones or The Millers. Move one of those 2 newbies to Tuesday following . . .

As for 2 Broke Girls. People are realizing that it is only so-so and has enjoyed comfortable slots. It is not a lead off the hour show. The same can be said for Mike and Molly when it returns

  • Stuart Pitt

It will help 2 Broke Girls and hurt Mom.

  • ToXiX

Mom is easily the best new comedy on CBS. I wish it all the best tonight.

2 Broke Girls & Mom should go up

I highly doubt Hostages will though.

Two broke girls lost nine tenths out of HIMYM on premiere week. Why would this time change be any different?

  • Kenny

I`M a lil bias here because i HATE both of these shows i watch “2 Broke Girls” every week because my girl loves it, As for “Mom” i feel bad for Anna Farris because she`s charming as hell and really tries hard but the show is just dreadful. I think “Mom”will be canceled but my monday nights will continue to suck because “2 Broke Girls” will survive..URGH

  • Ryan Schwartz

2 BROKE GIRLS is a terrible show, but gosh darnit, I still occasionally watch for the two leads (who deserve a better supporting cast). When it was on at 8:30, I watched every week. I’m sure it’ll be the case again now, and probably for a few others who might have tuned out when it moved to 9. I think it’ll do better, and obviously, the plan now would be to have it at 8pm post-HIMYM next season as long as Mike & Molly doesn’t entirely crater at 9.

  • Dan

It will probably help 2 Broke Girls but I doubt even Big Bang Theory repeats could help Mom, the sooner Mike & Molly returns (And January comes the better).

@Matthew – If you’re talking about comedies, none of them have done horribly enough to justify being pulled. The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife are holding up and Back in the Game & Super Fun Night are dipping from their lead ins. Plus ABC has drama problems with Wonderland and Betrayal flopping and Lucky 7 getting yanked. My guess is that ABC will make a decision on its comedies within the next few weeks or at the very latest mid November.

@Anna G – Yeah but in November the comedies were already getting 3.0, 3.2 etc. So Big Bang just replaced the weak Partners link. This year only HIMYM is getting above a 3.0 2BG & Mom are both getting 2.2s. My hope would be that 2BG would retain enough of HIMYM around 3.0 but I’m not holding my breath.

Mom, The Millers, and Crazy Ones will all get backorders but remember 2/3 will timeshare with Friends With Better Lives and Bad Teacher. So its interesting to see how that comes into play.

2 Broke Girls and Two and a Half Men are experiencing well-deserved rating lows.I hope the viewing public is finally getting fed up with raunchy sitcoms whose writers are obsessed with sex and bathroom jokes. If they want to see how to write a successful sitcom, look at Big Bang Theory. That show doesn’t rely on an endless stream of masturbation and fart jokes to be funny.

BBT reruns didn’t always get 3s last season.
    It got 2.2, 1.8, 2.0, 2.9, 2.4, 1.4, 2.8, and 2.0 too.

  • gustavo

The schedule for tonight should be:8:00 HIMYM,8:30 Two Broke Girls,9:00 MOM y 9:30 TBBT (repeat).

  • Brandy

I hoe the schedule helps 2 Broke Girls
