    Some people need to invest in a dictionary… as a courtesy…

    sta·bi·lize (used with object)

    1. to make or hold stable, firm, or steadfast.
    2. to maintain at a given or unfluctuating level or quantity: The government will try to stabilize the cost of living.
    3. Aeronautics . to put or keep (an aircraft) in stable equilibrium, as by some special device.

    verb (used without object)

    4.to become stabilized.

    A 2.7 For Sleepy Hollow, tied with last week’s fast average and only .1 down from last week’s adjusted up 2.8, is stable. And, still, the highest scripted non animated show FOX has currently on roster.

    And you’re welcome.

  • It’s funny

    @grey, DWTS had a lower demo overall, so its overrun would not have inflated Castle’s fast national ratings. More proof that Castle might be closer to standing on its own. Like someone said earlier, ABC won’t fix what isn’t broken, but I wonder how Castle might fare on Sundays.

  • j

    CBS still in 4th place for the night.

  • eridapo

    @JFF

    Not only are Castle’s overall numbers pretty darn monstrous by ABC standards, but it’s demo is also fairly reliable comparatively as well. Not to mention it’s procedural nature makes it a better bet for reruns and syndication. (And it’s books make good supplemental products.) I think Castle should definitely have a future.

    Haven’t you heard Castle already has a syndication deal with TNT, and it is doing quite well.. ;)

    @ Kate, nah, it was Tuesday’s at 9 until Supernatural took over. HOD did fine in that spot two years ago. In fact, like many have predicted, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends back there mid-season while BATB goes to Friday.

  • JONNYSBRO

    I think it would be smart for abc to move dancing to Sunday nights. I think it would be good counter programming and air greys after it at 10 pm.

  • CrimeDawg

    Well still good for The Blacklist but went down a little more in the final ratings than I thought it would.

  • wednesday

    I would love to see The Vampire Diaries or Arrow move to Mondays & have the show air a day earlier in Canada on Showcase like it’s doing with BATB & see if their ratings didn’t take a hit. Does Canada air a day early for either of those shows?

    @grey
    Interesting that “The Black List” was adjusted down while “Castle” wasn’t considering that both had a one minute run-over from their lead-ins but I guess the football pre-emptions factored into the adjustment to “The Black List.

    Two things: In Demo Castle rated better than its leadin whereas The Blacklist rated lower than its leadin. The viewer difference between DWTS and Castle is smaller than the one with The Voice and The Blacklist (9:30 portion of Voice was over 15 Million viewers versus 13 Million for DWTS)

    @it’s funny

    I’m sure ABC was hedging last spring, but I always wondered why Deadline reported that ABC was looking at a two-season order for Castle, and then it didn’t happen. That would’ve been the time to do it, I think.

    The hedge was due to Salary concerns with the Stars (Nathan and Stana want more money) and not finalizing in time the the renegotiation of the syndication deal with TNT

    Ep 5: ???

    Summary: The Blacklist seems to be following almost exactly the trajectory of Revolution from last year.

    Make a guess on episode 5′s ratings.

    The hedge was due to Salary concerns with the Stars (Nathan and Stana want more money) and not finalizing in time the the renegotiation of the syndication deal with TNT

    Can you please expound on the renegotiation of the TNT deal? Was ABC not able to squeeze more money for Season Five, or something?

    As for “salary concerns”… Of course they want more money. :P

  • Alan

    So happy for 2BG! I hope CBS keeps it at 8:30 for the rest of the season. I guess We Are Men was the one hurting it.

    And poor CW! Anyway, as long as HoD hits 0.4′s, that should lock up renewal for a fifth season. BATB is gone.

  • Lenovo

    so did they renew their contracts? i’m watching the episode right now and really want this show to continue for the next few years. :)

  • Mon

    That was the best Hostages episode so far. Too bad nothing can be done to save it even when Mike & Molly comes and lifts Mom. CBS probably would want to wait until then to make a move about it. 2 Broke Girls did ok. I hope it continues to increase from here.

  • Lenovo

    regarding castle of course.

  • It’s funny

    Oh, eff it. Just expound on all of it if you can @eridapo.

  • Alexa

    “Great for the blacklist. By this time I believe Revolution was already at 8 million and around the 2.5-2.7 area. Good for the blacklist for superbly improving the timeslot. Great show.”

    See above chart. The Blacklist didn’t have the same premiere but the ratings track is very similar to Revolution’s.

  • Ultima

    @Paulo PT
    SH premiere 43,8%

    No, the premiere had 4.452 million viewers in the demo and 10.098 million viewers overall; that’s 44.09%.

    last night 45%

    The lower bound of the range for last night was ~44.3% (2.65*1.27/7.59).

    That difference is statistically insignificant. You simply cannot draw the conclusion that the show skews more inside the demo at this point.

    LOL I think we have a winner for fan excuse Bingo. How does airing in Canada a day before affect a show’s ratings in The UNITED STATES? Because the people with Neilson boxes obviously pirate it online is that what you’re saying.
