NBC better keep The Blacklist. It’s the best show on the network by a country mile.

  • Mandy

Castle is doing so well :)
But why does ABC ignore it?

  • Andrew

    Great for 2 Broke Girls!

  • violet hour

happy for castle and sleepy hollow

    Castle is doing so well
But why does ABC ignore it?

How is ABC ignoring it? Castle gets renewed every season, gets to keep the same timeslot its always had despite it being one of the better ones on the network, and it’s one of the few dramas on the network to get repeated over the summer.

What more could ABC possibly do?

  • Helen

Glad Bones is stabilized even in its 9th season!

Hostages had its best episode last night! I’m loving the show. Next weeks looks even better, I doubt CBS will pull it or swap it with another drama on fridays or mondays, because while it isn’t doing good, it seems to have found it’s bottom and they already cancelled a monday comedy, and had a comedy line up switch, I doubt they would want to announce and move a drama when Hostages is already scheduled to be 15 episodes, although I would love a second season, it is extremely unlikely.

The CBS comedy switch up looks like it could work, 2BG should continue to increase and hold onto much of HIMYM lead in, I hope Mike and Molly comes back strong and helps Mom because last night was hilarious and it needs to grow. Given Chuck Lorre I think it for sure gets a full season, and hopefully they nurture it.

Sleepy Hollow is holding up incredibly well! Wow!

Castle does reallly well up against The Blacklist. 2.2 at 10pm is very good these days. CBS can’t even come close to that. Come to think of it I think only POI and maybe CSI are the only 2 CBS dramas to get a 2.0 last week at 10. Could syndication be helping Castle?

The good news for ABC is that Dancing seems to stay above a 2.0 and Castle isn’t lead in dependent and always grows (or mostly) grows out of Dancing.

I knew it that with the cancellation of ‘We Are Men’, 2 Broke Girls would be better again in the ratings. Yay!!! Thank God that CBS cancelling WAM quickly.

  • Mandy

ABC could definitely advertise Castle a little more
When it is doing well,a little encouragement is not bad

I would love to see The Vampire Diaries or Arrow move to Mondays & have the show air a day earlier in Canada on Showcase like it’s doing with BATB & see if their ratings didn’t take a hit. Does Canada air a day early for either of those shows?

Absolutely NOT!! I already have too much on Mondays and don’t want to risk my favorite CW shows on Mondays.. It’s doing fine where it’s at.. The aren’t going to move it 2 top shows to put it on Monday.. Besides nothing I’ve ever seen CW do before would ever show me that these types of shows would be moved to Monday.. But hey who knows they could change it up and do things they’ve never done before.. I wouldn’t be happy though, if they did.

So happy for 2BG! I hope CBS keeps it at 8:30 for the rest of the season. I guess We Are Men was the one hurting it.

And poor CW! Anyway, as long as HoD hits 0.4?s, that should lock up renewal for a fifth season. BATB is gone.

@Jay we don’t speak of Dante unless directly dealing with him. It’s an unspoken rule. Speaking of him might summon him.

    @Caitlyn

Lmao this Dante guy is like lord voldemort for Chicago fire or something? He who must not be named!

I’ve never seen really what he’s says but know more or less

Yes that’s exactly what it is.. Just pop into Tuesdays preliminary ratings.. He’ll be the first one posting.. He does a copy/past pre text and waits for tvbtn to post numbers then he starts bashing Chicago fire he’ll post why it has horrible rating and should be cancelled even though it has some of the highest demos for a scripted drama..

  • allfromthei

I wonder how much the CW will factor in that BATB has and will be pre-empted a lot during the fall and not even air in major markets like NY, NJ and Chicago (like next week). Add to the fact that trenderr said BATB got into the Top 8 for most talked about show online, I wonder if the network will try to give the show another chance and move it.

I guess everything depends again on how the other new shows today but again, I just feel like the show has a legitamte excuse when you dont even air in major markets 2 out of 3

  • laura

Seems like the glory days of Bones is a thing of the past.
The ratings are horrible….. even a marriage of Booth and
Brennan could not save this once great show.

  • Katherine

I doubt CW will factor it in at all. BATB was renewed last year in order to fill a hole in their schedule. They couldn’t afford to premier more fall hours than they did so they renewed an underperforming show and paired it with another under performing show. They wrote off Monday so that they could gain traction on the other days by premiering new shows with their hits Arrow, Supernatural and Vampire Diaries.

It is certain that the CW would know what kind of ratings BATB is getting, and it’s nearly certain they knew they weren’t going be expecting much there. But the same thing wont happen at the end of this season. Shows don’t get pitty or spackle renewals at the end of their second season because the net essentially has to eat two more seasons of low ratings.

@Jules, who wrote: “Lmao this Dante guy is like lord voldemort for Chicago fire or something? He who must not be named! I’ve never seen really what he’s says but know more or less”

-> you can see his posts on all the Thursday Ratings posts. It’s almost always he very first one. Basically he’s a retentionista who claims Fire is cooling down (calling it Chicago Cool) and that Revolution will be renewed over Fire, because it’s much more successful.

I wonder how much the CW will factor in that BATB has and will be pre-empted a lot during the fall and not even air in major markets like NY, NJ and Chicago (like next week).

I think you’re drastically overestimating the impact of being preempted occasionally one or two markets at a time. The effect is well below a tenth of a ratings point and it’s not like Beauty and the Beast is even close to being a bubble show anyways.

  • Pat

Sleepy Hollow is doing great by today’s low standards. especially given that it is only .3 behind The Blacklist and doesn’t have the Voice as a lead in. It’s also pretty handily winning its time slot.

Not to mention that it’s a fantastic show.

  • omabin

    @Ultima,

While I agree with the notion that Beauty and the Beast is a likely cancellation and not a bubble show, it is not impossible for it to be renewed either. If the midseason dramas and if one out of reign/the tomorrow people/the originals flops, then i don’t think it is unconceivable that the CW would air beauty and the beast and hart of dixie on fridays next season, assuming they keep america’s next top model as mostly a summer show. That would leave them three midweek spots to launch new dramas, which is what they typically launch. It would require a very specific combination of events, as well as the cw being willing to stick with 2 new dramas on friday the whole season (which I think is unlikely) but I don’t think it is dead walking just yet.

  • hanp

I think the jury is still out on Mom. The cast are likeable but isn’t the show just feels too generic. There is nothing so distinct about it. I would like to think CBS should wait a bit to let it grow but if its rating remain flat when M&M premieres, then I would think it should just get canceled.
