You’re new to this whole ratings thing, aren’t you? Here, let me do the math for you: The Originals in its first season has so far beaten Supernatural in its ninth season precisely once. And it’s SPN’s lead-in, so you’d *expect* it to do better with that extra hour to gain ratings. While The Originals is hardly in any danger at the moment, it’s not “killing” SPN in any way.

Way to go Originals! You have made me give up on Agents of Shield. AOS should be doing better than 2.5-3.0 considering the budget and big screen tie-in. I think people are finding out that AOS is blah. NCIS beat it.

@JC, The comments seem to be coming in way behind for me, so I’m not seeing what you write before I post so I apologize.

And +1000 on your second paragraph! Agree to all of it! Makes me think the reason the guys at CW are putting so much faith in Reign behind TVD on Thursdays is because it FULL of teen angst.

@Phoenix, it is smart to air those shows together, it is called strategic marketing. It is what they did when airing TO the first week behind TVD. PLL is always a summer/winter show so they don’t have to compete with primetime, so it makes sense it is on a hiatus right now. Of course, CW doesn’t really do summer/winter programming so it doesn’t make sense for them to do what ABCFamily is doing with PLL/Ravenswood and air them on opposite calendars. And just because Ravenswood is on air, doesn’t mean it will fill the fix for PLL fans and they will stick around. And that’s not a dig at PLL or Ravenswood. If you saw what JC and I were talking about TVD and TO, TO is more mature than TVD so they might not have the exact same audience. Just like PLL and Ravenswood won’t have the exact same audience. Ravenswood will lose some PLL watchers and pick up people who don’t watch PLL. It’s too early to tell.

    Long live POI

  • tim_m

Well CF didn’t have a big jump with the aid of a new episode of the voice. I guess the clips show wasn’t the cause of the huge drop.

happy supernatural fell…i watch it on netflix, but their fans are annoying and i won’t have to hear all week how it’s the number one show on the cw :)

good for the biggest loser tying chicago fire without a huge lead-in…

Nothing got POI kicked off Thursdays. CBS simply chose to try it on a Tuesday instead. You’re the only one (possibly on the entire planet…) who believes that the network has any malice or ill will toward the show at all.

Is it getting the same ratings as it got on Thursdays at 9pm? Of course not. Are the ratings it is getting in the new time slot acceptable? I’d say more than acceptable, frankly.

POI is going to be around for a minimum of four full seasons, and more than likely five. Post whatever you like to the contrary. Won’t make it so.

Like I said to Christian, SOME of the SPN fans are annoying. Some are so annoying that they even annoy the rest of us SPN fans. The majority of us though, pretty much normal. Try not to lump us all in the same group if you will.

@CC I’m starting to wonder if Thursday will be my guilty pleasure night. I watch TVD and Scandal (though TVD is no longer what it once was). I also watch GOT and Boardwalk Empire, and watched The Borgias/Tudors. I expect Reign to be ridiculous, but hopefully in a good way. If it’s entertaining, I’ll just call Thursday my over the top, angst night and enjoy the shows for what they are.

Tuesdays, however, will probably be my favorite night on the CW. Adults playing adults and dealing that don’t center around a love triangle.

  • s0303

@bored now…i am a fan of the show also…i just don’t watch it until it uploads on netflix…i don’t want to see supernatural fail…but it will be nice not to have a daily reminder how supernatural is still the number one show for the week for the cw…that’s all i’m saying…it gets old :)sorry if i offended you, i know not all the fans are like that :)

eradipo after only 4 weeks they mean nothing lol, case in point aos lol

“but it will be nice not to have a daily reminder how supernatural is still the number one show for the week for the cw…that’s all i’m saying…it gets old.”

You’re not wrong! I think the internet (and particularly this site) seems to attract the worst of every fandom (usually the ones that consider online commenting as their usual form of social interaction…) and because of that so many shows get tainted with a reputation for having crazy fans. It’s a shame when you know that it really is just a vocal minority. You didn’t offend me though. I just think us non-crazies need a little representation now and again. ;)

YAY Originals did well!!!! Loved last night’s ep

  • Jea

Not watching the originals as i am more of an Agent of Shield kinda audience. Supernatural is just kinda flatlined from repetitive story lines and resurrecting old characters (even as lovable as some of them are). Glad Person of interest was adjusted up.

  • Tessa

I don’t know how someone saying “This show was the network’s number one show this week,” equals to being obnoxious and annoying. Supernatural fandom has a lot of issues with some of its members but that was the most ridiculous complaint I heard someone level on it. It smells too much of butthurt.

  • Clown4

not bad for AoS, looks like they are finally stabilizing. Too bad not higher it’s a great show. Dumb for abc to put it in that time slot and not on Mondays. Dancing on Sunday and OUAT on Tuesday at 9 revenge Tuesday at 10

  • Vanessa S.

What the???? We’re obnoxious and annoying because we were exhuberant about SPN being #1 for one week?? Seriously? Now that is beyond lame.

  • Julian

Good night for the CW all around!!

  • Carl

SPN fans said that for one week. If it annoyed fans THAT much, I can’t imagine how they react to fans who say that for months or years.

Considering the competition SPN has, 1.0 is pretty good. It’s one of the toughest timeslots of the week for the CW, because SPN and The Voice overlap.

I don’t watch the PLL shows but I guess they will likely make TO and SPN take a hit starting next week.
