Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy said on Wednesday that season six for the show (2014-15) would be its last.

The show's adults 18-49 ratings this season were relatively low for the first two episodes (2.0, 1.6) and then spiked up to a 2.9 with last week's tribute to Cory Monteith.

This should have ended well before the Cory tragedy, the writing has been lousy since episode 10 of season 1.

  • Gino

Yay, I never liked it after season 2

  • Shepherd

    If they’re lucky.

  • Liv

Am I right in thinking back in 2009/ 2010 modern family and glee used to be competitors, they use to have some rating battles

  • Johno

Thats if it last that long,

  • Wowza

this show makes so many people happy. It is such a fu show. Its so great to watch. That a musical show made it to 6 seasons is truly remarkable. I cant wait to finish this journey with glee. I will appreciate every episode. It really is a class act of a show.

  • Doug

Better to announce you’re wrapping up the show than to get cancelled by your network…

  • Brad

No way it makes it to a Season 6 with it’s current ratings.

  • Wowza

FOX is not cancelling it. THey could elt it move forward and revamp it but they wont. Murphy wouldnt let them. 6 and done. Or, really more like 130ish hours of musicals and done. Thats right, 130 hours of musicals. Thats impressive.

I had a feeling that last season’s 2 season renewal would likely carry Glee to a 6th and final season, regardless of if Cory’s death happened or not.

  • Revenger

will be sad to see it go, but I don’t want it to drag on and get bad I still love the show how it is, but I think it is time to end. Smart decision to stop after six

  • Paul

About two seasons too late…..typical Ryan Murphy show – start out with a bang and ends with a whimper.

  • DM

It’s already been renewed for a 6th season.

  • Kelly

‘Cha right, like he had a choice. The show has been in a downward spiral for the past couple seasons – the declining ratings prove that. The writing has been horrendous and the storylines….well, what storylines? Monteith’s death was just the final nail in the coffin – no pun intended.

  • Kissan

I remember when this show used to pull 5.0’s against Modern Family on Wednesdays where it first started…good times.

  • gerry

i stopped caring about this mess back in s2 but nice for the fans that it will have a properly penned ending.

  • Jules

I think everyone knew this was coming when they renewed for 2 seasons

  • Matt

    @Paul just like AHS right?

  • EmaPonche

As a gleek, it’s sad to hear but I guess is the best for the show. It’s losing sense and it won’t be like their first seasons again.
