ABC: Toy Story did strong. BitG was decent. Modern Family was great. Super Fun Night seems on the bubble.

CBS: Same old, same old for CBS

FOX: Baseball’s doing strong as usual.

NBC: Revolution, while not good, isn’t doing THAT bad. It could be Ironside or WTTF. Law and Order is still going fine. Ironside seems likely to get cancelled soon, or it’ll just finish its order, as there’s nothing to replace it, unlike any of the Thursday shows.

CW: Arrow and Tomorrow People did great. TP’ll definitely get a full season pickup.

How do adjustment work I’m confused

  • Ultima

    last week’s non-adjusted ratings

That’s not a thing. Why would you even use an estimate when you know the actual value?

  • j

I guess ABC will stay at having 1 Comedy Mega-Hit, 1 Comedy modest success, and a bunch of comedy flops.

  • Gavin

Tomorrow People’s viewer numbers are good, but its young demos aren’t as good. I saw that data elsewhere.

How do adjustment work I’m confused

Preliminary ratings are a measure of who was watching the network at a given time, regardless of what was actually on, usually presented in 30- or 60- minute intervals. Those values are then assigned to the shows that were nationally scheduled for those time periods to get an estimate of its ratings.

Final ratings are a measure of who was actually watching each show. If there’s a difference between the estimate and the actual viewership, it’s called an adjustment.

Frequent causes of disparity are shows not aligned to the half hour (e.g. running 9:00-9:31pm), shows which are preempted in some local markets (e.g. local specials and local sports), and shows which air live coast-to-coast (e.g national sports and awards shows).

No point here. Hahaha. I’m just reinstating what I said in preliminaries’ post…

Damn, I forgot Super Fun Night and Nashville! Both WILL get cancelled.

Yeah, but I don’t see Super Fun Night going away before Back In the Game. Unless it reaaaally matches its ratings.

Either way, SFN will get canned, unless it manages to stay above the 2.1 mark all season – which, needless to say, is HIGHLY unlikely.

Good job for Survivor! Still going strong after 27 seasons!

Good for arrow as well. TTP rating is still good, hopefully it doesn’t drop much further.

The CW is doing well and it’s nice for a change.

No way! Shows get adjusted based on how many tweets they get. More than average, they adjust up, less than average and they adjust down! ;-)

Right on, I get what you were saying now.

Where are the ones who said that Goldbergs should take over Back in the Game’s slot?
    BITG ratings have been 2.2, 1.9, 1.8, 1.9
    The Goldbergs were 3.1, 2.2, 1.9, 1.6

At this point I think BITG is the only comedy that will be renew

I wouldn’t be so confident in Back in the Game’s chances. If The Middle was on instead of the Toy Story special, I think BitG would have continued to slide. As it is, only pulling a 1.9 when bracketed by a 3.1 and 4.1 is very, very bad.

I think ABC will renew at least one freshman comedy, but none of the fall ones are standing out. That’s great news to whatever lands the post-Modern Family timeslot in the spring. It’s not a lock for renewal, but it’ll be a very low bar.

Nice to see CSI the only net show to hit 2.0 @ 10:00, as well as Survivor up a tenth @ 8:00

ABC posts only shows over 3.0, 3.1 TS & 4.1 MF but all other shows need help fast.

NBC the biggest loser as entire sked below 2.0–1.4 for Revolution & 1.0 for Ironsides not good

ALCS on FOX was too wild & deserves those ratings & hopefully will do even better tonight

Hoping CW can do some hurting tonight as well

Can’t see season 2 for SFN now. Mixology will probably get a shot there instead (and do even worse, probably).

CBS winning by not going backwards on Wednesdays, it seems.

Two-minute overrun for SVU (not even in the 2s itself!) says all you need to know about Ironside.

  • TomJH

Back In The Game needs to move to 9:30. It’s a much better fit for Modern Family.

  • dantas

It needs, but it wont happen. A brand new comedy right after Modern Family WILL fare way higher than Back In the Game by the time it premieres.

  • a p garcia

Looks like The Bear will be Ironside uninvited dinner guest!

  • Ed

I really think the 8:00 PM timeslot is hurting Revolution, it’s more of a 10:00 PM show. NBC should seriously consider moving it back to 10:00 PM midseason.

  • david

Good to see the CW not adjusted down. The Tomorrow People does not have much room at all to fal thow. I think the network will have higher expectations for its shows now because 4 shows are at or above a 1.0 now. So, the tomorrow People is doing good but it hopefully will rise in the next few weeks.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

I think Ironside’s wheels are about to get stuck in deep gravel with the bear chasing him.

  • Feedback

Wow, Modern Family actually did better than Toy Story. They should just greenlight a MF feature film.
