via press release:

CBS GIVES FULL SEASON ORDERS TO TELEVISION'S TOP THREE NEW COMEDIES — "THE CRAZY ONES," "THE MILLERS" AND "MOM"

CBS has given full season "back nine" orders to television's top three freshman comedies — THE CRAZY ONES, THE MILLERS and MOM.

"We’re proud of CBS’s leadership position in comedy and excited to build on it with the back nine pick-ups of these three new comedies," said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. "These series are creatively distinct, continue to improve each week and are led by strong showrunners, writing and production staffs, and feature amazingly talented casts."

THE CRAZY ONES is the season's #1 new comedy in viewers (13.71m), adults 18-49 (3.6/10) and adults 25-54 (4.8/12).  THE CRAZY ONES wins its Thursday (9:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) time period in viewers.

THE MILLERS sweeps its Thursday (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) time period in viewers and key demographics and ranks as the #2 comedy in viewers (12.41m), adults 18-49 (3.2/09) and adults 25-54 (4.3/11).  Last night, THE MILLERS retained 97% of its premiere rating in adults 18-49, 98% in adults 25-54 and 93% of its premiere audience, the best of any new series in these measures.

MOM is the third-most-watched new comedy, averaging 7.98 million viewers, delivering a 2.6/06 in adults 18-49 and 3.2/07 in adults 25-54 airing in the highly competitive Monday (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) time period.

THE CRAZY ONES stars Robin Williams, Sarah Michelle Gellar, James Wolk, Hamish Linklater and Amanda Setton.  David E. Kelley, Bill D'Elia, Jason Winer, Tracy Poust, John Kinnally, Dean Lorey, John Montgomery and Mark Teitelbaum are executive producers for Twentieth Century Fox Television.  THE CRAZY ONES was created by David E. Kelley.

THE MILLERS stars Will Arnett, Beau Bridges, Margo Martindale, Jayma Mays, J.B. Smoove, Nelson Franklin and Eve Moon.  Greg Garcia is executive producer/creator for CBS Television Studios.

MOM stars Anna Faris, Allison Janney, Nate Corddry, Matt Jones, Sadie Calvano, Blake Garrett Rosenthal, Spencer Daniels and French Stewart.  Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky and Nick Bakay are executive producers for Chuck Lorre Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. MOM was created by Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker.

The Chuck Lorre factor for Mom to get a full season?

  • Ram510

Happy for Crazy Ones, I hope the ratings start to go up even higher now.

The Millers is a terrible show but for whatever reason the rating are good enough for a full season.

Mom on the other hand is a disaster that shouldn’t be on the air much longer. But they did this last year with giving a full season to a show too soon

  • David

    @Marty,

Mom, like all the Chuck Lorre shows, are Warner Bros. productions, not CBS.

  • MARTY

    david thank you

  • MARTY

ccemerson 2 and half men has a 23 episode order which would give them a 250 episodes total for 11 seasons

  • CreacK

Not too surprised by any of these. I doubt Mom will get renewed for next season but not surprised that its getting a full season. I was surprised that The Millers got such high ratings but with its ratings, I knew it would get picked up. Lets see if it can keep its ratings up through out the season and get renewed.

Mom is lucky to be a Chuck Lorre Show ;)
Good for The Crazy Ones and The Millers.

  • Scandalicious

So happy for The Crazy Ones! It is a great show! I am kind of surprised Mom got a back 9 and the real test for The Millers will be when it doesn’t have the Big Bang lead in. However, it did grow this week so that is a good sign for the show. I think that by the end of the season The Crazy Ones will be getting better ratings than The Millers though.

  • Carmen

Mom is the best of the three, but to date has the toughest spot. Mom is kind of like the Middle.

If placed better on the schedule would instantly gain a point or so in demo.

  • charmedcraft

The Millers grew on me; I like Will Arnett. He always make me think of the time he was on 30 Rock when he was in love with the page Kenneth. The gag reel on you tube is hilarious, they could not keep a straight face.

CBS, Thank you for giving Mom a full season……now move it to Thursdays and ship 2 1/2 Men to Monday……2 1/2 Men is a low performing show that is hurting Elementary….surely this is the last season for 2 1/2 Men

  • THE OLD MAN

No real surprises at all. I’m thinking this is probably the last season for 2.5 Men, so the real test will fall on Bad Teacher & Friends w/Better Lives when they premiere.

It also looks like they’re staying with 2-hr comedy blocks on Mon & Thurs

Of course my opinion is subject to change as season progresses

  • ToXiX

Bad Teacher will not air. Mark my words. It will be this year’a Friend Me.
Friends With Better Lives should go after Big Bang.

  • Azzman

Yayy Mom, The little engine that could!

  • r0ckmypants

@Doug – $#*! My Dad Says only got 5 additional episodes, not the traditional back 9.

  • MARTY

nbc orders 4 more sean saves the world epiosodes

  • starship

    @ToXiX
Friend Me was shelved because the creator committed suicide in October last year. Bad Teacher will air, that’s certain, when it will air is a different matter altogether. It’s a single-cam, though, so I don’t really see it lasting on CBS beyond it’s 13 episode order. The Crazy Ones only stands a chance because of its creator and the star power of the main cast.

  • SJ

Called it! I said just the other day they’d all be picked up for full seasons. :) I have to say I quite enjoy all three, especially The Crazy Ones, which is my favorite new comedy of the season.

  • Carmen

The show is called – after all- The Crazy Ones and, at least so far, Robin Williams has been able to dial in the crazy to acceptable levels.

I wonder if he (or the show itself) will continue to be able to do that later in the season. I mention this because I just read that they have signed up Brad Garrett to recurring role.

    Wow!

Speaking for myself, that sounds like an arrangement that could go off the rails quickly. Doesn’t sound like something I’ll want to watch.

  • Adien

Mom is the funniest of the three but like someone said, it has the toughest spot so shouldn;t be judge apples to apples….it goes up against The Voice!!

These days getting 8-10 million viewers and 2 in demos really is counted as good! How times have changed!
