CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW

 

“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 AND HOUSEHOLDS ON SUNDAY, OCT. 13

 

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – and households on Sunday, Oct. 13. The CBS broadcast posted 3.24m viewers, 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 and 2.3/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 50% of the CBS affiliates.

 

Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +2% in viewers (from 3.17m) and even in households. FACE THE NATION posted its best household rating and viewers delivery since May 26, 2013.

 

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers, households and adults 25-54 (tied with NBC). Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +4% in viewers (3.16m from 3.04m) and even in both adults 25-54 (0.8/04) and households (2.2/06) compared to last year.

 

On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS). Schieffer also hosted a political panel with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Vanity Fair contributing editor Dee Dee Myers, Dan Balz, chief correspondent at The Washington Post, and Kimberley Strassel, editorial board member and columnist at The Wall Street Journal.

 

FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer. FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 40 years covering government and politics. He has anchored FACE THE NATION since 1991. Guests include government leaders, politicians and global figures in the news.
