    @Tammy

Elementary was watched by 20 Million people and scored a 7.8 in the post superbowl slot. It was not what CBS expected, but the show did get a lot of promotion during the game. I do agree with you about the 10PM hour in the sense that many people are either in bed or preparing to go to bed, so they DVR those shows more and watch the following day at a more convenient hour. Three years ago a 2.4 at Ten was considered problematic, two years ago a 2.1 was considered so so, a year ago 1.8 was the cut off. Now it seems that 1.6 might be the cut off line (or acceptable line) for renewal.

I argued last year on this site that there should be a 10PM factor in the Cancel/ Renew index because I said that if you take any show and place it at ten it will lose 3 to 5 tenths of a rating point. As an example of that I used “The Mentalist” that lost almost 4 tenths of a point when CBS moved it from 9 to 10. This year we have the case of Person of Interest. It went from a 2.4 to 2.7 performance to a 2.1 at ten…

Of course there is the Scandal, Blacklist, and Chicago Fire. TB and CF have the Voice lead-in, so we do not know what their true number is. Scandal benefited from the Greys leadin last year, but this year it has not only kept that audience but added new eyeballs…

Poor Parenthood.. this thursday night thing is killing it. Sad. I loved the episode last night it was great. Lol at the CW i knew Reign wasnt going to do well.. its gunna be pulled halfway thru the season.

I’m shocked that the CW isn’t in last/fifth place for once even if it’s for only one hour of programming (8-9 pm), and even more shocked that looking at the entire hour, it’s not even next-to-last/fourth place in the 8-9 hour – it ended up in third place out of five for the 8-9 hour! Now that’s pretty impressive, even if it has more to do with other networks having terrible ratings rather than its own ratings rising.

  • Wtf

What the hell, Elementary? almost 5 tenths in one week? This sucks, the show is amazing, it must go up again!

  • Steve

    The Big Bang Theory: 10-18-12: 15.82M viewers, 4.8 18-49.
    10-17-13: 17.80M viewers (+13.2%), 5.2 18-49 (+8.3%)

    Two and a Half Men: 10-18-12: 13.60M viewers, 4.0 18-49.
    10-17-13: 8.59M viewers (-36.8%), 2.1 18-49 (-47.5%)

It’s time to abandon the show that sucks. :) Sorry, TAAHM but this might be a death spiral.

  • Kenny

TVD really rocked that ep. Stelena forever.

  • Michael

That has to be near Series Low numbers for “Two and Half Men”.

Thursday Nights are gonna have BIG lineup changes. Especially NBC. But ABC has a lot to do too (minus Scandal) and even CBS…Can Elementary Survive it’s Sophomore slump??

  • Hannah

Can people shut up about ‘Reign’ it did alright and
Yet I see people saying ‘Oh haha I know Reign was going to do bad,its going to be pulled” seriously its stayed at 0.8 and from a 2.00 to 1.98
    Reign haters -.-

  • Kit

CBS should put Two and Half Men behind BBT again. It will retain far more of the lead in than The Millers will and that will help the comedies following.

I don’t agree that this is the end for the show, though it needs to stop the bleeding and fast.

  • Networkman

CBS really thought that having Two & a Half Men air at 9:30pm would help Elementary maintain respectable numbers. When really Two & a Half Men should of moved back to Monday night. I do agree it has a different audience than Elementary. If anything The Crazy Ones would be more compatible with it.

  • Tabitha

    I enjoyed Reign.

  • Blake

CBS should never have moved Person of Interest from Thursday to Tuesday…..the move has hurt Elementary….and please cancel Two and a Half Men

  • KC

Elementary’s low ratings could be good news for The Good Wife and/or The Mentalist. Elementary on a Thursday night is almost as low as TGW and TM on Sundays. I would think that it would be smart to keep those shows over Elementary because they are established vs. Elementary would need two more seasons after this one to get a syndication deal.

  • Blake

Also the baseball game hurt Elementary as well

  • Networkman

Now CBS has finally fixed its Tuesday 10pm problem but developed a Thursday 10pm problem. ABC has got a hold on the hour. CBS is going to have to find a drama that can hold up against Scandal.

  • KC

We should all get used to the fact that Scandal is going to be in the high 2s, low 3s this season, making it one of the best dramas on tv.

  • KC

I still believe that ABC needs to alter their Thursday schedule:

8:00- Grey’s Anatomy (loyal fan base; can survive the “death slot”)
9:00- Scandal (make it more accessible to more people)
10:00- NEW DRAMA (use one of tv’s highest rated dramas as an effective lead-in)

  • Owen

I’m not sure how people stay awake during OUAT: Wonderland. ABC should kill Wonderland before it kills off it’s remaining audience from boredom. Wonderland is a far cry from the original OUAT. Adding Jafar and a Genie drags the whole series down. The actress playing the queen of hearts is dull and poorly cast.

Moving Wonderland to Sunday won’t save it. It’s an epic fail and ABC should cut it’s loses and feed the Bear his Thursday night snack.

Brothers and Sisters was another show who is very successful at 10pm slot.

But all the replacement tanks LOL(Pan Am, GCB, 666 Park Avenue, Red Widow, Betrayal)

Karma is a bitch. 5 shows has been taking Brothers and Sisters spot and ALL tanked horribly. Just bring Brothers and Sisters for its season 6.
