Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled Fifth? (Poll)

RIP, Welcome to the Family and Ironside. The bear had a double NBC cancellation meal on Friday, October 18.  The drama-comedy combination plate was delicious,, but the Cancellation Bear always has room for more.

Which new broadcast primetime show will be the next caught by the cancellation bear and canceled fifth? With several more shows getting full season orders, it should be easier to predict now. Right?

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later.

What's your guess for this season's third to go?

While I've included all new shows in the poll (in randomized order) expected to premiere before Christmas that are not already renewed, full season ordered or canceled, the ones premiering late are obviously very highly unlikely to be canceled first, but the adventuresome are more than welcome to take a shot.

Like they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

    Super Fun Night

While betrayal and OUTiW are equally terrible, I think the Michael J Fox show is next on the menu. It’s completely floundered, and despite the celebrity at it’s heart, people just aren’t tuning in. They expected epic ratings for this, and are getting far lower ratings than they could get from much cheaper shows in the slot.

NBC won’t wanna cancel something again so quickly after today. CW usually has patience with shows so I’m thinking ABC goes next and gives Betrayal the boot.

  • Joseph A

I disagree with some about Michael, the MJF Show has a lot of upside and it could be turned around if the aunt & wife were to some how make their characters something other then pure crap

I think they won’t pull the limited series, Betrayal, Hostages and OUATiW will run most of their episodes in their respective timeslots. It might be one of the remaining sitcoms, especially on ABC but it is also possible they all get to produce all of their 13 episodes… I’ll go with Back in the Game only because I want The Goldbergs or Suburgatory in that timelsot.

Why is the Michael J Fox Show in this poll? Doesn’t it have a full season order??

I picked Betrayal in the poll, but I could see it also being Trophy Wife. I’m sure they want to bring back Suburgatory soon, and cancelling TW would do it.

Goldbergs will be renewed. There are several comedies rated lower than it, and ABC will probably end up airing it on Wednesdays next year provided it can stabilize in the low 2′s. Super Fun Night will be renewed for the same reason. I can see it moving off Wednesdays next year, but I don’t see it getting cancelled unless it falls below 2.0.

Hostages and Dads will air all their episodes before being cancelled. The former has no built in replacement until February, and the latter got additional episodes since FOX apparently doesn’t believe in it’s other comedy pilots.

OUATIW will also air it’s remaining episodes just like Last Resort did last season. ABC will continue to strike out in that slot as long as they keep airing new shows against TBBT.

MJF Show has a full season order so idk why people are picking it (or why it’s on this poll lol).

  • Jon

Zero chance Michael j gets cancelled next zero! I think realistically betrayal and hostages and possibly super funnight should be next on the radar.

  • Jon

Having a full season order does not mean a show still cant get pulled. It can and it will happen if ratings dictate it.

  • Lil

Once Upon A TIme In Wonderland will be canceled next and they will air the rest of the episodes. Who thinks next season could be the last season for Bones and NCIS?

  • james

can people just please grow a sense of humor and accept that dads is amazing.

  • CBSviewer

16.72% of people on this wedsite think The Michael J. Fox Show will be the next cancelation. Seriously ? It’s NBC second highest rated comedy.

  • Corey

I think Betrayal, I gave it a go but I found it boring so I stopped. You can cancel OUATIW because I love it. But betrayal all the way!

  • Chris J

NBC is going to make the Michael J Fox show a success. Don’t be surprised if it’s moved to the Post-Voice slot on Tuesdays!

  • Chuck

I hope they don’t cancel Dad’s. The assistant is smoking hot & the only reason to watch the show.

  • James

Betrayal will be next. Wonderland is also supposed to have a split season this year, but given how low-rated it is I doubt it’ll return in spring.

I don’t think SSTW will get a full season, but there’s literally no good replacement. NBC has Undateable on the bench, but it doesn’t look any better than WWTF.

I think Dads will stick around until March, because last week it’s narrowed the margins with the rest of comedies.

  • Ted Craig

Trophy Wife seems like a good candidate for cancellation. There aren’t enough Scandal episodes for 10 on Sunday and Tuesday, but ABC could air MF reruns instead of TW until either Mixology or Suburgatory can fill the gap.

  • Ted Craig

    @Chuck

You must not have kids. She’ll always be London Tipton to me.

  • Separate Entity

This network season is an absolute clustermuck! The vast majority of the new shows should NEVER have made it to air! What the hell is wrong with the people who give the green light? It’s depressing. Where are the new West Wings and ERs, the Friends and the Losts? You know, genuinely popular shows that changed the cultural landscape through plain old network tv. The fact that you have networks delusional enough to think that ‘Super Fun Night’ and ‘Welcome to the Family’ is where network comedy is at says a lot about the thought process behind new shows. Nothing seems to be working. Where’s the NEW BLOOD? I don’t mean the likes of Rebel Wilson who has yet to prove anything as a true comedienne beyond tired fat jokes, I mean the truly talented, interesting, funny and dramatic people who have ideas worth turning into a tv show that will connect with people on an emotional level! Oh yeah, they’ve all gone to cable!

  • Wesley

Betrayal is actually very good. The trailers for it did not do it justice.
