The average viewership increase From DVR Viewing ranks which of the top broadcast shows [by Live+7 viewers] had the largest absolute increase in average viewership by DVR between the Live + Same Day and Live + 7 day ratings measurements.

To see the previous most DVR'd TV Shows lists click here.

Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Do the Live+7 ratings tell us anything about a show's renewal prospects we didn't already know from the Live+Same Day ratings?  No.  Click here to learn more.

    @Rob60990
    LOL Revenge couldn’t even pull a 3.0 in the L7 ratings. Definition of a FLOP. Can’t wait to see this show continue to decline! LMAO!!

  • eridapo

    @reprise

    You know the Fan Excuse was coming so might as well beat them to the punch… ;)

  • StevenD

    It’d be really interesting to see The Blacklist play at 9 at some point mid season or next year. It’s DVR numbers are higher then most of the live programming on NBC

  • Freddy Arrow

    @Nathan

    “LOL Revenge couldn’t even pull a 3.0 in the L7 ratings. Definition of a FLOP. Can’t wait to see this show continue to decline! LMAO!!”

    Why is that funny? Seriously. I like a good laugh. I’d like to be in on the joke. I don’t watch the show, but I don’t understand how a show’s ratings are funny. Please explain.

  • Avery

    Scandal and Grey’s ended up with the same rating. And Nashville ahead of Revenge

  • Oliver

    Dads must have awful DVR numbers.

  • CrimTV

    TVD and The Originals both did amazingly!

  • chloe

    @Nathan why do u hate revenge so much?

  • j

    Interesting that the most-DVR’ed dramas are the 3 new hits. I thought the Shonda shows would be above them.

  • j

    Also, Blacklist is almost as high as Voice L+7. How close were Revolution/Voice?

  • Cuttler

    Second week in a row that PoI didn’t make the top 25 for the demo. I guess Shaw isn’t doing her job bring in the young ones. The show is still skewing “old”. (it was only in the top 25 for added viewers week 1 and I expect to it be there tomorrow.)

  • k:Alex

    I didn’t like Revolution any more by the end of season 1, but the ratings were OK.
    Now, I really like the show (less Charley, more story lines) and the ratings go down (big time), it’s a shame.

    Lucky The Blacklist is a real and first scripted hit of NBC after 7 years of trying.

  • Rob R

    Now we know why “Hostages” hasnt been cancelled yet and why “Brooklyn 99″ got a back 9 order. The day after ratings become a little more meaningless every year.

  • aciel

    @nathan
    i still don’t get the need to hate on a show that you don’t even watch. revenge fans are not hating on scandal expect for rob.

  • aciel

    i dont get why scandal fans are hating on revenge so much seriously this is just childish saying my show is better than your show. i’m a fan of both shows scandal is a megahit hit and i think that scandal fans should be happy about that, no need to put revenge down you know people like that show

  • aciel

    @rob60990 @nathan
    both shows will be renewed so stop with the scandal vs revenge war

  • eridapo

    @Cuttler

    It doesn’t mean much. POI gained a full demo point, so it could be it just didn’t make the cut in the sort…

  • leia

    hey I have a question for all DVR’rs. Do you ever watch the commercials? And if not why do we count DVR at all? If we don’t watch the adds, the greater fools are the advertisers if they pay, any up for the DVR demo. Just sayin’.

  • Ultima

    @Nathan
    Definition of a FLOP.

    A show that reaches its third season (and likely a fourth and syndication) is the definition of a flop?

    I’m not saying that you’re stupid, but your comment certainly suggests it.

  • Sarah

    @eridapo

    “@sarah

    You haven’t posted, but I know you will want to know

    BONES 2.24 3.07 37% 7257 9747 34%”

    Thanks so much. :)
