    So many Revenge haters. SERIOUSLY GROW UP PEOPLE. The show is in an impossible slot with a non-compatible lead in and nothing to follow. It is basically in a buoy by itself and doing ok, not too mention that it is up against the juggernauts of FOOTBALL and The Walking Dead. How about we move Greys Anatomy or Scandal to Sunday at 10 and see just how well they fare. Speaking of those 2 shows–they are so unwatchable its pathetic. There you go ABC—New lineup….Sunday Greys/Scandal Revenge goes back to Wednesday and replacing the other terrible show Nashville

    The ratings for season 1 were down in the spring as well. The ratings are down in the spring for nearly every single show on broadcast. Revenge fell more than average last season, and I can think of 1 or two shows that were within 5-10% of their fall averages for most of the spring season, and they were renewed because of it; but if you’re expecting any show to return with higher ratings come spring, you’re in for a world of disappointment.

    But you’re right; it is basically a new season. That’s why fall ratings matter less than spring ratings when it comes to a show’s chances for renewal. And for the record, I’ve never said Revenge would fall below 1.0, only that it could if current trends continue. I doubt that it will fall that low, but I wouldn’t bet against it either. You’ll know when I make an actual prediction.

    I will say, that I think it’s funny how last season “Revolution only fell in the ratings because NBC put it on such a long hiatus”, and that show “only fell because they scheduled it on one week then off two” etc. etc., and “Revenge only fell because ABC didn’t put it on a long hiatus” etc. etc.. Come spring, there will be a dozen Revenge fanatics crying how “ABC killed Revenge’s momentum with that long hiatus”; mark my words; it happens every season.

    @Ultima

    On the other hand, if ABC brings back Body of Proof, then I think Revenge has the ratings for six seasons and a movie! ;)

    :lol: I don’t know which is funnier; BOP coming back, six seasons, or the movie!

    Ouat has huge fanbase and can be watched in different places, so no need to worry.

    ABC really have no excuse whatsoever for leaving Revenge (and possibly OUAT) in that death-slot on Sundays. They could easily fill Sundays with reality filler and not take any damage, whereas with the current lineup they are killing two shows on the cusp of syndication out of stubbornness. Sundays will never be a drama night and I am fed up with execs sticking their fingers in their ears and pretending Revenge has a chance of competing against the #1 show on TV. It’s pure delusion on their part.

    Twitter campaigns aren’t going to help the show and neither is putting shirtless men in the promos. Get Revenge back on Wednesdays where it should have stayed lest it die an unnecessary and painful death.

    Who knows how the hiatus will affect ratings? It could help them or hurt them. It really depends. Desperate Housewives during its fourth season, the hiatus from January to April hurt ratings. However, hiatus have seemed to help shows such as The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Pretty Little Liars, etc., so it could work. I hope ABC gives it the right promotion and does a recap special for it, and tries to promote it as if it was a new season, and then hopefully Revenge would return up and remain stable.

    How is Betrayal still around? Its numbers are pretty much tied with Red Widow at this point and below that of Whodunnit?

  • Art

    Betrayal’s days are numbers, with ABC now probably regretting cancelling Body Of Proof. As long as football and the Walking Dead are still on, anything scheduled on Sunday Night is gonna pull lower numbers. I sang the praises of The Mentalist last week, but it clearly had a tough night this past Sunday. The Good Wife did better, although it’s demo’s are still low. Sunday is a tough night to judge though. Can’t cancel everything, plus there is no guarantee anything new or moved there will do any better.

    Good wife is a great show.
