For the week of 10/14-10/20, The CW was up 5% year over year in total viewers (1.88M vs. 1.79M), and also gained 4% in adults 18-49 (0.73 vs 0.76) and 6% in women 18-49 (0.94 vs 0.88) versus the same week last year.
For the week, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES ranked as the #1 social scripted show on broadcast television (yes, more social than "Scandal") and #3 overall, behind only the MLB ALCS and the NFL, according to data from Trendrr.tv
In Live + Same Day ratings, THE ORIGINALS and SUPERNATURAL combined to give The CW its most-watched (2.27 million viewers, since 9/8/09) and highest-rated Tuesday night in adults 18-49 in more than four years (1.1/3, since 9/15/09), and its highest-rated Tuesday in both adults 18-34 (1.1/3) and women 18-34 (1.4/4) in more than two years (9/27/11).
THE ORIGINALS hit series highs in adults 18-49 (1.1/3),adults 18-34 (1.1/3), women 18-34 (1.5/5), and women 18-49 (1.4/4), and matched its series premiere numbers in total viewers (2.2M).
Compared to this same Tuesday night last season, The CW was up 48% year to year in total viewers, up 67% in adults 18-34, up 56% in women 18-34 and up 83% in adults 18-49.
Week to week, The CW’s Tuesday night was up 11% in adults 18-34, up 17% in women 18-34, up 10% in adults 18-49, and up 1% in total viewers.
In Live +3 Day delayed viewing, THE ORIGINALS drew 3.07M viewers, a +38% gain over L+SD. It jumped +44% in A18-34 (1.52 vs 1.05), +45% in A18-49 (1.56 vs 1.08), and +51% in W18-34.
SUPERNATURAL gained +26% in total viewers in L+3 vs. L+SD (2.93M vs. 2.33M), +29% in A18-34 (1.34 vs 1.04), +28% in A18-49 (1.34 vs 1.05) and +28% in W18-34 (1.75 vs 1.37).
In Live + Same Day ratings, ARROW was up in total viewers and all key demos from last week's season premiere, rising 22% in A18-49 (1.1/3), up 13% in A18-34 (0.9/3), gaining 20% in W18-34 (1.0/3) and increasing 10% in total viewers (3.06M).
It was ARROW's most watched episode since 4/24, its best A18-49 rating since 2/13, its best A18-34 rating since 5/1, its best W18-34 rating since 11/28/12 and its best W18-49 rating (1.1/3) since 12/5/12.
THE TOMORROW PEOPLE rose week to week in younger demos, gaining 20% in A18-34 (0.7/2), up 20% in W18-34 (0.6/2), and up 17% in M18-34 (0.7/2).
In Live + 3 Day delayed viewing, ARROW drew 4.08 million viewers, up +33% from its Live + Same Day average and up +11% from its L+3 average for last week’s season premiere. ARROW rose +42% in adults 18-34 versus L+SD (1.28 vs 0.9), and was up +19% week to week. In adults 18-49, ARROW rose +43% compared to its L+SD rating (1.53 vs 1.07) and was up +18% week to week. Among women 18-34, ARROW was up 30% versus L+SD (1.26 vs 0.97) and rose 20% week to week.
The second episode of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE also saw sizable percentage gains compared to its L+SD ratings, jumping +33% in total viewers (2.86M vs 2.15M), +32% in A18-34 (0.89 vs 0.67), +34% in A18-49 (1.14 vs 0.85) and +30% in W18-34 (0.74 vs 0.61). THE TOMORROW PEOPLE also rose +10% week to week in L+3 in A18-34.
In Live + Same Day ratings, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES beat both ABC and NBC at 8pm in A18-34, W18-34, and A18-49.
It was TVD's most watched episode (2.93) since February (1/1713), and its best A18-49 (1.3) rating since March (3/21).
Week to week, TVD was up 33% in total viewers, 18% in A18-34 (1.3/5), 30% in A18-49 and 6% in W18-34 (1.8/6).
The series premiere of REIGN gave The CW its second best performance in theThursday 9-10pm time period in a year in total viewers (1.98M) W18-34 (1.0/3) and A18-49 (0.8/2) (10/11/12, the series premiere of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, which aired opposite the Vice Presidential Debate on the other broadcast networks), and since Nov. 2012 in A18-34 (0.7/2), behind only the special airing of THE ORIGINALS in the time period.
REIGN improved on last season's time period average in total viewers and all key demos, +25% in total viewers, +40% in A18-34, +43% in W18-34, and +33% in A18-49.
In Live + 3 Day delayed viewing, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES rose 35% in total viewers versus L+SD (3.93M vs 2.93M), +45% in A18-34 (1.95 vs 1.35), +49% in W18-34 (2.74 vs 1.83), and +46% in A18-49 (1.94 vs 1.33). The series premiere of REIGN saw gains of +35% in total viewers (2.68M vs 1.98M), +30% in A18-34 (0.87 vs 0.67), +30% in W18-34 (1.31 vs 1.01), and +36% in A18-49 (1.06 vs 0.78).
