via NBC press note:

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:

  • In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.1/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.9/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.2/6.

  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

  • From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

  • From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

  • At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I wonder when ABC will realize they need to make serious changes to DWTS, not just getting rid of the results show.

James Spader has lost quite a bit of what made him stand out in the ’80s and ’90s, but he apparently can carry a TV show (the only real exception being The Office).

  • Sammy01

Nice to see Bones up, hope it gets adjusted up to 2.2 in the finals.

Not sure why they didn’t just air 2 Episodes of Bones last night? Surely they have a stand alone episode that could have filled the 8pm hour and then the Wedding episode at 9pm.

Seems ridiculous Fox is struggling for room to fit in its dramas to then have a repeat in a primetime slot.

Airing 2 episodes of Bones last night, plus the extra 2 now Almost Human has been pushed back would put Bones at 10 Episodes aired so far. They could just then save Bones till early next year to fill in from Feb/March where inevitably one of their new shows will be failing, thus avoiding Fridays.

The CBS swap has worked. I think CBS will air all of hostages. CBS should put mom after big bang on Thursday. They have faith in chuck Lorre. Dancing with stars doing great viewership but bad demos I think they should move to Sunday nights. Move castle up to 9 pm on Monday’s. The voice always falls during these rounds but still solid.

  • Eric

    The Voice did really good!

  • Mon

Get rid of Sophie on 2 Broke Girls!!! Please! Why can’t the writers realize that she doesn’t contribute anything on the show. She shows up and does nothing but scream.

  • s0303

cw definitely inflated…but hopefully batb will not lose an 0.3 in the final numbers…

  • cabose369

Hopefully Castle adjusts up. The Blacklist was excellent last night. Can’t wait to see what happens next week!

  • Carl

Did people read the part about the CBS shows being inflated?

  • Alf

Blacklist will adjust down but an upper 2 is still good for 10 PM. It just needs to stabilize now.

Great for CBS… even with adjustments, Mom will be up.

  • Gregg247

Glad to see Blacklist doing so well. I’ve really enjoyed the show so far this season, and hope the quality continues as the episodes continue.

    Plus, NBC needs a break.

  • anna g

Fially, some improvement for CBS – even Hostages rose in demo but not being to crack 6 million viewers is pathetic. Last year H50 had ratings of 2.1 and 8.7 million viewers at 10 pm and the entire line up was stronger. Good to see The blacklist hold steady 3.0 ratings and little ouch for Castle. I hoped it would crack 2.0 in demo.

  • Potato

Given where Hostages, B+B and Hart usually are in the ratings, I’m guessing the football inflation is +0.2

  • grey

Ouch, “Castle.” Hope there is an adjustment up but probably not. It held the demo though, such that it is. :-|

  • r0ckmypants

I really don’t understand folks. Not only is there a boldfaced, red text at the top of the article about inflated ratings on CBS and CW… the ratings information for those networks is also in red. How can you ignore so much red text?

  • Ronald

Ouch HoD will eb Adjust down big time e.e TBBT even is repeats is better frim the one that air originals episodes D:

  • gerry

one of the biggest markets (nyc) was airing football on cw. so…. yeah. those numbers are crazy inflated.

hard to tell what cbs’ true numbers are.

i hate inflated numbers. coincidentally, i also hate football.

  • Carl

Well, @r0ckmypants, most of the CW comments do mention that. The CBS comments don’t. I guess Hostages and Mom fans are just really happy.

  • omabin

It’s puzzling how come people are completely incapable of reading a bold red text. I really don’t get it. Even if you don’t see it, won’t you look for it once you see the exceptionally high numbers?

  • eridapo

Unlikely that Bones will be adjusted up. The halves were 2.1 /2.1 and 7.40/ 7.51

  • Kissan

The Blacklist will adjust down to a 2.9 in the final ratings, but if it wants to be a hit it has to stabilize in the high 2’s.
