Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for  live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Overall a pretty solid night for everyone. I am really sad to see that Trophy Wife dropped. At this point I am trying to not love it anymore because I know it will be canceled. I am so glad that B99 is up! It was actually really close to New Girl! I am also glad Mindy is solid. Hopefully SHIELD can finally be done falling. I really think it is a fun show and I want to see it stick around. Another great Tuesday for The CW – even if it wasn’t quite as good as last week!

  • Mary

Yay! NCIS beat Shield. Go NCIS!!

  • s0303

good-bye trophy wife…too bad, it was a good show.

  • cyn

“Doesn’t seem like something a network would do who was invested in a show.”

Dante, 22-24 episodes in 36-39 weeks dictates a total of a few months off whether it be a few at a time or with some shows months at a time. Someone who supposedly knows so much shouldn’t be oblivious to that common sense fact.

  • Michael1

    Woo-hoo for “Person of Interest”.

  • Missy

I’ll never understand how Bones with their over 2.0 steady ratings are being packed off to Fridays while FOX comedies are getting pitiful ratings like those. Unbelievable.

  • Joey

@ Dante please stop with the hate on CF. It’s mean spirited and getting old. I hate coming on here because you always leave a rotten taste to my mouth and end up resenting this site. Please Stop

  • Data

Max, you can stop pretenting to be someone else now.

  • Rebecca

So far I’ve only seen Trophy Wife and part of The Goldbergs but will stream everything else soon (too much for me on Tuesday nights: B99, Mindy, NG, SPN). I really hope Trophy Wife stays on the air; it’s so funny. The Goldbergs, too.

  • João Paulo

Go POI go (awesome episode last night)

  • jupiter3765

shield sinks week after weak after weak

  • zerg

The Goldebergs doesn’t look so bad when New Girl got only 1.8

  • Petar

Person of ineterest can hit 13 million viewers in finals. Well deserve. I think POI take some boost from syndication deal. I mena after WB take so much money they made it available on demand on cbs.com itune etc. Only one think WB. Sell it to NETFLIX too.

  • Dante

    @cyn

We are only a month (give or take a week) into the tv season and NBC is already pulling Chicago Fire for 2 whole weeks. I know about tv show scheduling and the need for breaks but this early in the season is a clearly a sign of NBC’s lack of faith in the show.

I am still waiting though for that 2-season renewal announcement that was said is coming…

  • diegobitch

Dante used ’2-week hiatus’ against ‘Chicago Fire’. It was ineffective. NBC won’t change.

  • Charmed

How did Dante get first comment? There’s no way he wrote that in that space of time

  • Ryan Schwartz

FOX should move BROOKLYN NINE-NINE to 8pm the Tuesday after the Super Bowl and promote the move throughout the game and in the weeks leading up, of course, with ENLISTED premiering at 8:30pm. FOX is going to patient with B99 the way ABC was patient with THE MIDDLE. (Yeah, yeah, I know THE MIDDLE was doing better at the time, but this is a similar situation with the 8:00pm show, like HANK, doing worse and clearly heading towards cancellation.)

I’d cancel MINDY, but leave it where it is for the remainder of the season, then cancel it in May.

    Beginning February 4th:
    8:00pm BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
    8:30pm ENLISTED
    9:00pm NEW GIRL
    9:30pm THE MINDY PROJECT

  • Andy

how can someone have such an extreme reaction to Chicago Fire??

  • JC

Good for SPN. Glad I was right and PLL didn’t affect TO that bad. TO should rise again next week. Not surpised by AOS. The Voice is still steady though this season’s been rather lackluster, imo.

  • James

Shield needs a revamp. Getting rid of the terrible supporting cast would be a good start.
