The average viewership increase From DVR Viewing ranks which of the top broadcast shows [by Live+7 viewers] had the largest absolute increase in average viewership by DVR between the Live + Same Day and Live + 7 day ratings measurements.

Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Do the Live+7 ratings tell us anything about a show's renewal prospects we didn't already know from the Live+Same Day ratings?  No.  Click here to learn more.

It’s kinda amazing that Big Bang is so huge when it also has huge DVR numbers. Like, its DVR numbers alone would make it a bigger hit than most shows right now.

  • Bee

OMG. it is insane (and so annoying) that nashville and revenge get almost as many tenths from DVR as they do live. idk what ABC needs to do (maybe work on more exciting promos?), but they need to do something to make those shows seem more like must-see-live shows like they’ve done with scandal.

and rather than lose 0.5 tenths in week 2, scandal only lost 0.3. the other 0.2 watched on DVR rather than live lol

  • Ram510

I’m surprised to see Blacklist higher than Scandal. I guess NBC should be proud?

    Revenge did great

I´m curious to see the viewers too, but there really some shows that DVR very good week after week.
On another note, does anyone know wich network, and where, will be preempted today due to football? I´m already kind of expecting everything to be down due to the World Series, but I believe the network with a preemption will be down even more, no?

Great lift for Nashville. I hope these numbers influence a back order for season two and a stronger chance at a season three.

  • Wright

Hopefully Reign shows up on the list at some point.

  • JR35

Miles, it would only influence anything if “Nashville” made a significant jump on the all-inclusive list that combines DVR info with Live+SD. Just looking at the 18-49 list, Nashville would rank 20 or 21 for Live+7 numbers, and that’s not including any others that rated higher Live+SD but do not show up on this list.

  • Snoot

  • AllOfHerTw!st

  • Beth

    @Bill/Robert

Bones demo and viewer numbers please?

  • Phil

What about Once Upon a Time in Wonderland?!

  • DanaK

As some commentator said, the DVR numbers show that the rich get richer and the poor get a little less poor. The numbers probably come in most handy when a network is deciding if moving a show is worth it, especially to an earlier time. The Blacklist for example is doing really well and even better in the DVR numbers. NBC might decide it could manage well outside of the shadow of the Voice and at an earlier time.

Good rise for the Originals and Arrow. Oh and for TVD too.
