NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for NBC  (NFL Football) and Fox (World Series) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers.

NOTE The start of CBS prime was delayed in many East Coast markets due to NFL overruns. In New York, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Louisville and Jacksonville CBS programming was delayed 9 minutes. In Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Detroit and Dallas CBS programming was delayed 26 minutes. Ratings are tentative and subject to change.

FOX was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On FOX, the end of the Broncos/Redskins football game notched a preliminary 7.8 adults 18-49 rating. Game 4 of the World Series garnered a preliminary 4.4 adults 18-49 rating up 10 percent from a 4.0 for last year’s game 4.

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, which featured a match-up between the Vikings and the Packers earned a preliminary 5.6 down 46 percent from last week's preliminary 9.5 adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM.

On ABC, America’s Funniest Home Videos earned a season high 1.4 up 27 percent from last week's series low 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.  Once Upon A Time scored a 2.2 up 5 percent from last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too pessimistic. Revenge matched last week's season low 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.  Betrayal notched a 1.0 up 11 percent from last week's 0.9 adults 18-49 rating.

On CBS, the start of primetime was delayed in many East Coast markets so these numbers are likely to change in the finals. 60 Minutes scored a 1.5 down 46 percent from last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating. The Amazing Race earned a series low 1.7 down 11 percent from last week's 1.9. A heavily promoted episode of The Good Wife matched last week's 1.4 adults 18-49 rating. The Mentalist garnered a 1.3 up 8 percent from last week's series low 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    well good wife was so perfect last night , it deserved a lot better numbers , i hate cbs programming and i hate abc programming. they kill their shows on sundays…

  • dantas

    @harry,

    Don’t blame Sundays. Both The Mentalist and The Good Wife managed to get renewed last season on that same day.

    Yes, it was a really, really, really great episode. And it did deserve more attention from its past fans.

    Unfortunately, people are just growing tired of the show. And that’s the reason it’s performing poorly.

    It happens. To all non-sport shows. One season or another.

  • iSayso

    ABC programmers are absolutely stupid. Everyone knows Revenge should come after Betrayal, not that it would make a difference. You can’t make a great show out of a cow’s anus.

    @joseph

    monday night football is not beating the world series game 5. It’s a bad matchup seattle is to good for the rams. I’d say that game gets 11 million and world series game 5 17

    TGW does lousy in the demo but it’s pulling in 9 million viewers. Not sure what CBS has in mind but it is probably the finest show on network TV. To bad the people would rather watch garbage than a quality show like TGW.
    _____________________
    I love TGW. It’s a lot better than most give it credit for.. Let’s not call shows that aren’t TGW garbage though. I love and watch a wide variety of shows including sports, the walking dead, homeland, boardwalk empire, person of interest, the good wife, revenge,once upon a time, Nashville, scandal, greys, the blacklist, sons of anarchy, including dexter and breaking bad… Including a few more..

    Which ones would be considered garbage.. Just cause you don’t like a show and it’s getting a lot lower ratings on Sundays when MOST shows will get lower cause of SNF and TWD doesn’t mean that those others are garbage..

  • Scandalicious

    I am so glad to see OUAT up! Maybe it can rise a little more in the finals. Maybe Revenge will adjust up as well? I am glad it was flat and all, but I was hoping it would improve ratings wise from last week. I hope The Good Wife ticks up a little soon here. It is such a quality show. I just started it but the first few episodes have been awesome. I don’t want to see this show go!

  • Christian

    @Marty Revenge does not have a 24 episode order, it has the standard 22. And that is not going to change for logistical reasons. At this point, they’re going to have to have a 2hr finale like last year to fit all 22 episodes in-season.

    I wouldn’t be surprised to see Revenge and Resurrection’s times switched when ABC officially announces its mid-season schedule. Revenge isn’t strong enough to launch a new show and launching Resurrection between Once and Revenge gives it a bit of a cushion. Plus, it seems a better fit with Once.

  • MARTY

    christen according to Wikipedia it has 24 they are usually accurate we will see at the end of season

  • iSayso

    @Dorothy5334:

    Not even Fabreze can mask the odor of Revenge.

  • Networkman

    I don’t know when CBS will get the picture that The Amazing Race and Survivor are getting long in the tooth. With The Amazing Race losing steam the way it has this season, it is not even a great lead in anymore for a show. The network needs to scale these reality competition series down to one edition per season. Have Survivor on in the Fall and then The Amazing Race can take the slot in the Spring. That may help keep both afloat for a couple more years. I really wish the network would of tried the Beverly Hills Cop project with Eddie Murphy. It is time to start going in a new direction. These dramas are pulling in great amount of viewers but skew really old.

    I wouldn’t mind this schedule next season

    Sunday
    7pm 60 Minutes
    8pm Survivor(Fall)/The Amazing Race (Spring)
    9pm Elementary
    10pm The Good Wife(13 episode Final Season)/New Show in the Spring

  • Networkman

    Revenge is getting really good this season. I also like Scandal. Both leading actress are great and do the best with the written material given. The performances on Revenge are more subtle. It is not always a dynamic in your face dialogue as Scandal. But Emily Van Camp is brilliant with all the different facets of her character and all the issues and surrounding players she has to interact with.

    The Goldbergs seem to have its own built in audience and not really compatible with SHIELD. If anything both comedies on Tuesday should have been moved immediately to the 8pm hour. And then SHIELD could of moved to 9pm followed by Revenge. Once Lucky 7 was cancelled, ABC should of quickly moved Revenge. Also Once Upon a Time in Wonderland should be airing behind Once Upon a Time. The network is simply letting dramas lose steam by staying in slots where they are not compatible or too much competition for it to find an audience.

  • Russell

    ABC:
    This should be the last seasons for Videos and Revenge. Revenge can’t manage six million viewers and is getting killed by Good Wife. Betrayal should just run off its’ episodes. Once Upon A Time has barely one more season left it while its’ spinoff on Thursday is DEAD.

    NBC: Sunday Night Football is very powerful but in the Spring NBC’s numbers are horrible.

    CBS: 60 Minutes and The Good Wife will be back again. The Amazing Race should run as a summer show on CBS. The Mentalist will be cancelled after this season.

    FOX: Animation is getting a little old. They should try something else.

  • Networkman

    ABC had a problem with its Wednesday 10pm slot and Revenge premiered and was its best rated drama in that slot in a long time. ABC should of kept it there. I don’t know why they are so reluctant to move Castle. Castle should of been moved to Sunday @9pm last season to replace Desperate Housewives. It would of done decently following Once Upon a Time. Revenge shares to much of an audience with The Good Wife. Also I think Castle would of been a better lead in to 666 Park Ave. And then Nashville should of definitely premiered on Monday @10pm after Dancing With the Stars. There was no need to mess with the Wednesday 10pm slot.

  • k:Alex

    I like the Sunday ratings, I always get bingo.

    The excuses for some show’s are really sad.
    I like Revolution, also a show without good ratings, even with a good story line right now, but it’s not only the fold of concurrence/the network or dumb public.

    Sometimes show’s aren’t made for a huge audience, or made too many mistakes (like Revolution did by the middle of season 1, or the whole season 2 of Once upon a time).

  • lmw931

    @harry, @MARTY,

    I totally understand the show can be syndicated, I just don’t know how they are going to continue with the same story line. I do really like revenge but there hasn’t been much going on lately and the story line is being dragged out

  • gerry

    @ dantas

    @gerry,
    But they are not trying to get rid of multiple dramas. Believe me, if ALL CBS shows averaged between 3.0 and 4.0 nowadays, they would only cancel one or two shows per season, to give space for something new – giving their audience a sense of innovation on the channel.

    i’m not sure if you’re making my point or not. i don’t think cbs is trying to get rid of multiple dramas. at this point it will be getting rid of mentalist and hostages. i think good wife stands a decent chance of renewal if none of the cbs spring dramas are breakout hits. but none in recent memory have been, which is why i think tgw stands a decent chance and as i think john a (maybe, if i’m wrong, sorry) mentioned, tgw moves to the late spot and elementary goes there. or tgw goes to friday if h50 goes as well. i’ve always thought tgw and blue bloods would pair nicely.

    Is there something wrong with your keyboard? Does it replace every “have” with “of”. I mean I understand that happening once or twice, but this is insane, man.
