NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for NBC  (NFL Football) and Fox (World Series) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers.

NOTE The start of CBS prime was delayed in many East Coast markets due to NFL overruns. In New York, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Louisville and Jacksonville CBS programming was delayed 9 minutes. In Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Detroit and Dallas CBS programming was delayed 26 minutes. Ratings are tentative and subject to change.

FOX was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On FOX, the end of the Broncos/Redskins football game notched a preliminary 7.8 adults 18-49 rating. Game 4 of the World Series garnered a preliminary 4.4 adults 18-49 rating up 10 percent from a 4.0 for last year’s game 4.

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, which featured a match-up between the Vikings and the Packers earned a preliminary 5.6 down 46 percent from last week's preliminary 9.5 adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM.

On ABC, America’s Funniest Home Videos earned a season high 1.4 up 27 percent from last week's series low 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.  Once Upon A Time scored a 2.2 up 5 percent from last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • John C

CBS was delayed 8 minutes in New York City, Cincinnati, Columbus Ohio, Dayton, all of Kentucky.

CBS was delayed 36 minutes in Detroit, Dallas, Philladelphia, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Richmond.

revenge does great on the dvrs

That and $5.00 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I don’t think Revenge is in danger of cancellation, the syndication Gods are at work here, but doing well on DVRs is not a big factor in renewal.

I subscribe to the idea that certain posters should be treated like Beetlejuice. I act as if having their names appear 3 times will make them come back, so I don’t mention them at all.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Bill

My mistake. Just took what was given in chart above, not factoring in the 8:30-11:00 & 8:00 to 11:00 portions.

Would you accept Senior Moment? Still, 3.8 in 18-34 isn’t bad!

    Again, my humblest apologies.

  • Holly

    @Jean,

i love Revenge, the show is so much better now, it got #1 in its timeslot, isn’t it, so GREAT!

Revenge only got #1 in its timeslot if you ignore half of the networks… It beat The Good Wife…yay? A 1.5 isn’t great on any broadcast net not named CW. It may (or may not) be enough for renewal, but it isn’t great.

  • Amy

yeah, i love Revenge, nolan, emily, victoria, gosh, i’m obsessed with it

  • K

    @E

It helped that the team playing was not really competitive. Vikings started off strong, then faded away.

  • k:Alex

As I sad, Betrayal is up, would be fun if it keeps growing.

  • Robert

Poor TGW, the best show on television (not just broadcast networks), it deserves better numbers than this. But at this point, there is no hope for it to ever grow. The only hope would be an Emmy win for best drama to get some interest. But chances are, it’ll be cancelled by that time and wouldn’t make a difference.

  • BigBrotherFan

Revenge is getting stupid again. For the pete’s sake who is Barry Sloan sleeping with at ABC? How is he STILL ON THIS SHOW? He has got to be the worst thing about it and continues to hold it back. They should of kept Ashley and just did away with him. I’m enjoying Patrick’s storyline and want to know more about his motives because we all know there is more to him than meets the eye.

I cannot believe THE GOOD WIFE is so low! I hate CBS but this show is on a real creative streak and what a nail biting episode. The acting is truly remarkable it really boggles my mind how Josh Charles hasn’t won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Will. When Diane was telling him about *SPOILER* Alicia leaving the firm he was just brilliant! This show deserves so much better one of the BEST casts on TV! This show strikes me more of an ABC type show, though.. What do you think the odds are if CBS cancels it that either ABC or NBC make a play for it?

  • dantas

Revenge will be renewed for a fourth and final season (that may be a shortened-one) as long as it stays above 1.0.

If it goes constantly lower than that, still in its third season, the Syndication Gods won’t mind having it cancelled by May 2014, despite its DVR numbers.

  • TJ

1.0 Betrayal and that is good news? 666 Park Avenue had better ratings all along and was cancelled. How does this show survive ?

  • Parker Wyeth

No delay in Cent time zone. Everything started on the hour.
The GOOD WIFE was great last night. The MENTALIST wasn’t bad either since it’s getting near the end.

  • gerry

last night’s good wife was seriously the television event of the season. the show is on FIRE, and last night’s episode will have an emmy nod for sure, along with supplying emmy reels for basically every cast member. why everyone is not watching the best show on tv is beyond me.

at least its flat and didn’t go down from last week. both it and revenge were up against alot. can’t wait to see revenge tonight.

there is still a chance for tgw. it just depends on how cbs sets up the schedule for next year. all these people counting tgw out have done that for many years and it just keeps coming back and keeps getting better.

  • Tad

    LETS GO RED SOX!

  • Gabe

I can’t believe The Good Wife’s ratings didn’t go up despite the best episode of the series and one of the best hours of television I’ve experienced. Hope this is not its last season.

  • gerry

    @ big brother fan

you get big kudos for actually saying **spoiler** because so many people don’t. of course, i have already seen last night’s ep because who could wait.

*spoiler* when david lee called alicia judas and she walked back and told them that she was taking all of their clients, i about lost my %#@*

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ BigBrotherFan

Your rant on THE GOOD WIFE completely had me until you got to “this show strikes me more of an ABC type show. PA-Leeze! Shonda should only hope…

Don’t think any other network would make a play for it, but there may be an outside chance with cable. Either way, though, we got five seasons of a truly exceptional show! Be grateful for that much!

  • Nikki

Cant wait to see the cable ratings.. im curious to see how Witches did. Awesome episode last night.. really loving that show.

  • Jean

    @Holly: it’s Great for me!

  • BEe

why is ABC still trying to make betrayal happen!? it’s obviously not going to happen.

last night’s the good wife was INCREDIBLE. what a damn, damn shame that the stupid football schedule messed with such a game-changing episode of this amazing show.

i think i’m officially BACK on the revenge train. the first two episodes were decent, but also sorta dull. i’m not surprised it fell heavily from the 2.3 it opened with. BUT, it’s been improving literally every episode and last night, despite no serious REVENGE-iness, it may have been the best episode of the season. this season might actually be getting towards season 1 goodness. can’t wait for next week.
