CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW

 

“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 AND HOUSEHOLDS ON SUNDAY, OCT. 27

 

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – and households on Sunday, Oct. 27. The CBS broadcast posted 3.55m in viewers, 0.7/03 in adults 25-54 and 2.5/07 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 50% of the CBS affiliates.

 

FACE THE NATION posted its best viewer delivery since April 21, 2013.

 

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.28m), households (2.3/06) and adults 25-44 (0.8/04.)  Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +3% in viewers (3.28m from 3.17m) compared to last year.

 

On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH). Plus, FACE THE NATION kicked off CBS News’ coverage marking the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with the first interview with Philip Shenon, author of A Cruel and Shocking Act: The Secret History of the Kennedy Assassination. Schieffer also hosted a Kennedy expert panel with Tom Johnson, former Lyndon B. Johnson press secretary former Publisher of the Dallas Times Herald, The Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan, and the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward.

 

FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer. FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 40 years covering government and politics. He has anchored FACE THE NATION since 1991.
