BONES Moves To Fridays and RAISING HOPE Makes its Season Premiere

Friday, November 15, on FOX

Fridays on FOX are all about the fans!  FOX is giving fans the opportunity to be featured on air during the broadcast of an upcoming night of Friday programming. The new FOX Friday lineup  kicks off on Friday, Nov. 15 with the time period premiere of BONES (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), followed by the one-hour season premiere of RAISING HOPE, featuring two all-new back-to-back episodes (9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Starting today, fans via Facebook, Twitter, Vine and Instagram, can submit a photo, video or text answering this week’s question, “Why do you love BONES and/or RAISING HOPE?,” using #fanfriday. Fans are encouraged to use the question as a starting point, but can also get creative in highlighting their appreciation for BONES and/or RAISING HOPE by submitting videos, photos, tweets and Facebook posts. All submissions will be reviewed and FOX may choose to feature some of these submissions on air beginning Friday, Nov. 15.  All submissions featured on air can also be viewed the next day via the BONES and RAISING HOPE Facebook and Twitter pages, or at

Visit the BONES and RAISING HOPE Facebook and Twitter pages for each week’s question, as well as submission information and additional details. Fans may also join the conversation about “Fan Friday” during the broadcasts of each show by using #fanfriday.

In the “The Fury in the Jury” episode of BONES, airing Friday, Nov. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a juror on the case of professional soccer player Peter Kidman (guest star Brandon Quinn) who is accused of murdering his wife. When she deduces that the killer not guilty, his best friend – who is a key witness in the case – turns up dead. The Jeffersonian team must work together to solve the case.

In “Déjà Vu Man/Burt Bucks,” the special one-hour RAISING HOPE season premiere featuring all-new back-to-back episodes (9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), a mysterious Natesville resident (guest star Jeffrey Tambor, “Arrested Development”) keeps popping up in the Chance’s lives. Then, Burt and Virginia introduce Natesville to a new bartering system that looks an awful lot like a pyramid scheme.

So to all those people that said Bones and Raising Hope would never actually air on Fridays, here we are.

“Fridays on FOX are all about the fans!”

Ok, so how about giving the fans what they want and bring back Firefly and Dollhouse? ;)

  • CrimTV

I understand many are still upset about this but you all know how it works. The shows weren’t getting the ratings therefore they were cancelled, it’s the same for all shows. If they were brought back now they would probably do even worse.

  • Samuel

Bones on a Friday means it’s almost certain for a healthy run. It will pull in pretty good ratings for Fox.

  • abc

Did you even see the Smiley behind my posting?

Obviously they wouldn’t rate well, but FOX also should not write crap like “it’s all about the fans”, when given the chance in a poll the fans would certainly want Firefly back on not be “featured on air”.

They kept Fringe on the air despite the fact that they were LOSING money on it for the fans. I’d say that’s enough considering networks like CBS and ABC fail to give their shows final seasons.

I am 100% sure FOX was not losing money with Fringe. It is naive to believe it would. I am sure WB was having a negative gross margin (as in what fox paid it was smaller than what the show cost to produced) so as to allow FOX itself to have a positive gross margin (ad revenues > cost paid to WB). However, I am sure that WB recouped those losses with the extra money from the episodes sold to syndication. I could not find how much that deal was worth but I am sure it was enough.

Don’t forget DVD Box Set’s, I-Tunes, merchandise all sells better for a show that I perceived as a successful 5 Year run, also more time to sell said merchandise, Fox didn’t take a loss, nor did WB when it was said and done, Fox had plenty of Gorden Ramsey, COPS episodes and reruns of Animation that could of been cheaply made and thrown into the slot otherwise.

The finale year WB decided that it was no longer mutually beneficial so they shortened the season, if you watch the final 2 seasons you will notice the cast is never all their and they reuse standing sets or talk about stuff that happens versus showing it….doesn’t make for a bad show just a cheaper one

I read an article in which a Fox executive admitted it was losing money for them and Joshua Jackson also mentioned this.

  • PurpleDrazi

The good news is, Grimm and Bones will not be competing against each other.

The bad news is, that means Raising Hope is going against Grimm. :-(
