    I see what you’re saying. The “hit” drama Revenge gets a 1.4 and is considered a hit, but Scandal gets a 2.9, which is more than double that paltry rating, would be a flop.

    Thanks for clearing that up! It all makes sense now!

  • Pepper

    Series low for TVD (it still beat Fox though)

    Reign low but steady, same with Elementary. CBS has way too many other lower-rated dramas in trouble to worry about that show – it’ll be renewed no problem

  • Refrain

    I’m quite surprised by the .6 drop in a week for The Millers though. It seems it may be lead in dependant, as TBBT airing a repeat has clearly affected this shows performance which has rebounded onto The Crazy Ones.

    I think normal operations will be resumed when TBBT airs a new episode ;)

    @ mark

    Relax. It’s not the entire fandom. It’s a few fans that like to brag. I’m a fan and I’m not like that. I know that SPN had a really bad rated episode on Halloween last year just like TVD did this year, yet people forget to mention that. TVD will go back up of course and will probably be overall number one on the network again this year.

  • rob60990

    I never called Scandal a flop except maybe in its 1st season when it was. Stop reading so much into my posts.

  • Jenna

    I think Vampire Diaries will have higher L3 numbers and rebound next week. The combination of Halloween and a large chunk of a couple of states not having it air at the normal time may be why its lower. We’ll find out next week.

    I also think that Scandal will go back up. It still is a 10pm show that built on the 9:00 hour. Not very common these days.

  • Truth

    @Joy

    Ha! Seems like I’m one that hit a nerve, seeing as SPN doing better than TVD has got all hot and bothered. Thanks for confirming your hypocrisy. Have a nice day, pathetic fangirl!

  • Valentin

    @Russell : No the Thursday line-up is NOT fine! The Millers that got 2.7 last week fell to a 2.1 (& first episodes were 3.2 rank) STOP thinking The Crazy Ones is the one to blame!

  • Refrain

    @Truth

    Supernatural also has a backdoor pilot coming up later on this season, which if successful will launch a new show on the CW. I would say it is doing better overall.

  • Alan

    Yay TVD

  • rob60990

    “While I wouldn’t call any of them hit shows, they’re far from being failures.”

    Sorry but they are. The Crazy Ones premiered with a 3.9 rating 5 weeks ago and its already under a 2. The Millers has had TBBT lead-in for 4 weeks and has no stable audience as proven by the big drop last night. Mom too is a failure but not as big as the other 2 but it is a failure considering who created the show.

  • Truth

    @Refrain

    Yeah, it’s too bad all the TVD crazies lash out like venomous cats whenever a show does better than theirs, especially SPN.

  • CK

    @Big Blue

    Reign is a limited series, so it is not competing with The Tomorrow People for a full season. They are considering extending Reign’s order to 15 or 16 episodes but it will be replaced with either Star-Crossed or The 100 after that. It’s possible (but unlikely) that they’ll give The Tomorrow People a shorter run to make room for the other midseason drama. They have more shows than slots.

    @rob60990
    So you admit Scandal is not a flop now?

    In my opinion both The Crazy Ones, and The Millers have the potential to last several seasons in the right schedule, while both shows are lead in dependant, you could work it in such a way that they would pull reasonable numbers.

    I would mix 2 Broke Girls, The Crazy Ones, The Millers, and The Big Bang Theory in some kind of funky schedule. It would be a good night for CBS.

  • Tim

    Wow…this shows how badly OUAT brings down ABC’s Thursday lineup from #1. Still amazing for Scandal and Grey’s, even if Scandal is ONLY. 1 BELOW A 3.0

    Glad Reign has found a foothold. Poor TVD, TO has officially rated higher than its parent show.

    TCO and TM are showing their true colors. CBS really does rely on TBBT.

    I think Parenthood’s time is up. Time for NBC to announce this as its last season.

    Um, I love Supernatural but you seem to be forgetting that TVD literally just launched a very successful spin-off called The Originals. It is not fan-excuse bingo that TVD has dropped because of Halloween, it is true because 1. Everything else dropped more than usual, 2. viewing was down 8%, 3. TVD doesn’t just drop 4 tenths each week.

    1. It should! TVD is in it’s 5th season, The Originals is in it’s 1st.
    2. For one week….on HALLOWEEN!

  • Samunto

    so basically no new comedy this season is hitting the note with viewers. Had this been last season they would all be cancelled by now.

  • CrimTV

    @Samunto

    Last season was even worse for comedies, so no, they wouldn’t have been cancelled by now. The biggest success from last season comedy wise was The Neighbors….
