Once Upon a Time Ariel

Tonight's episode of Once Upon a Time features the show's take on the popular Disney animated film The Little Mermaid. Though promotion and buzz do not always translate into higher ratings, ABC has put a lot of effort into spreading the word about this episode. Last week OUAT rose to a 2.2 among adults 18-49, from the prior week's 2.1, against the World Series. Will the addition of Ariel be a A Whole New (Ratings) World for the show whose numbers have, compared to its prior seasons, sunk Under the Sea this fall? Make your predictions!

I really hope THE GOOD WIFE goes up to like a 1.6 but I know it’s wishful thinking because everyone is watching that mindless zombie brain numbing crap!

I’ll say a 1.4 for THE GOOD WIFE

I hope REVENGE goes up a bit and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD get rid of Aiden some how some way! He really does NOTHING but confuse the storylines and take Emily completely off track from her original plan. He’s a poison to the show and needs to go. The great thing about this season is Patrick who is a welcome addition and fits in so well on the show his character is likely a real bad a**! I’ll say a 1.6

Once Upon A Time- Don’t care much about this show so maybe a 2.3

  • BigBrotherFan

    Oh and Betrayal I’ll say a .9

  • JR35

I’ll say 2.3, but, of course, higher would be great. :)

  • Eliot

    I think it’ll rise to a 2.3.

Still a stable performer for ABC on Sundays, unlike Revenge. ABC will be dreading its ratings for its fourth season (final season, no doubt).

  • ToXiX

There may be hope for Once. But there’s no hope for Wonderland.

  • Bee

    OUAT: 2.3-2.5
    revenge: 1.5-1.7
    the good wife: 1.4-1.7

revenge is in the dumps, but this season has been great lately so maybe it’ll go up a tenth or two. the good wife’s AMAZING episode last week could also spark a minor rise. OUAT will def. increase i think. only question is how much.

  • Bear1000

I hope the addition of the little mermaid shows some ratings magic for it. It deserves it, I think.

  • Samuel

    Once Upon A Time – 2.1
    Revenge – 1.7

If Revenge is renewed for a fourth season, ABC will move it to a weeknight at 9pm. Scandal will probably be moved to Sunday’s at 9pm to act as a lead in for a show at 10pm. They’ll see how that goes and if Revenge doesn’t improve, they’ll announce it as the final season mid-January.

I’m not expecting much. OUAT’s days of high ratings are over.

  • Refrain

    A new world? A new Neverland ? ;)

  • tv_viewer

    My predictions:

    America’s Funniest Home Videos 1.2
Once Upon A Time 2.3 (I’m repeating my prediction as noted in last Sunday’s final ratings)
    Revenge 1.4
    Betrayal 0.9

    NFL overrun (for CBS) 8.3
    60 Minutes 2.6
    Amazing Race 1.8
    The Good Wife 1.4
    The Mentalist 1.2

    The Simpsons 2.6
    Bob’s Burgers 1.6
    Family Guy 2.2
    American Dad 1.8

    Football Night Part 2 2.0
    Football Night Part 2 4.0
    Sunday Night Football 7.3

As I wrote before, Little Mermaid fans will boost OUAT to a 2.3. I’ll be optimistic that 1.4 is the bottom for Revenge until after Thanksgiving.

NFL overruns on CBS tends to help 60 minutes but hurt the 10 pm show. Even though there will be an exciting episode of The Mentalist tonight, due to the NFL overrun, I expect the ratings to drop down to a 1.2 from a 1.3 last week.

Fox’s Animation Domination will take a hit after the hiatus (due to baseball playoffs).

I am surprised I liked Joanna Garcia Swisher as the little Mermaid. Biggest question is when did Ginnifer Goodwin have time for a shave and a haircut in Neverland? It is sad that her hair is shorter than Charming’s. I know it is mean, it just bothers me the inconsistencies in this show. I know it is a Ginnfer Goodwin thing, but respect the storyline and character.

  • Ekras

TWD is going to have a good night tonight methinks, so I’m guessing lower than expected numbers.

  • Ekras

@Cat – They’ve only been there a day or two…. it’s a hot jungle which is why they are stopping so frequently (that an excuse for random dialogue most of us just ignore anyway) not because it’s “time to sleep”

  • KevinY

I just can’t stand it when ridiculously attractive women (like Joanna Garcia Swisher) do shows that generally only appeal to a female audience. I hope her next show is much less estrogen soaked.

As for Revenge, I agree Aiden needs to go!! Tonight’s episode had a great ending though!

Rating prediction: OUAT 2.40, Revenge 1.55, Betrayal 0.97. (thefutoncritic in final same day ratings reports goes to the hundredths place now).

  • Kerry

huge fan but the whole henry storyline has been exhausting and I don’t see how Ariel will help but anyway good luck to the show.
