IMO they shouldn’t move BaTB to fridays. It must die in Mondays so there’s no excuse and it will be gone soon. CW shouldn’t premiere a show on monday because it will tank big time. (Of course it will tank on friday too, but I think there’s more hope on fridays than on Mondays at this point)

  • It’s funny

“So much for “OMG Castle’s gonna catch up w/Blacklist soon!!!””

True, but let’s see how The Blacklist does without The Voice.

Re “Castle” I predicted a 2.0 and a 5 share in the adjustment. I’m glad to be wrong! :D

  • Scandalicious

No adjustment for The Voice or The Blacklist! Crazy. The Blacklist has definitely established itself. Good for Mike and Molly!!

I have adjusted Castle up 2 full points in my ‘most obnoxious fans’ ranking

    Why? Who? What??

I wonder what your number would have been if you had been here two years ago… The Castle fans have mellowed since and specially since H50/ Smash/ Revolution are no longer competing with it directly….

Read what you just posted. No seriously read it. I’ll wait.

Have you read it? Then you should realize that that made no sense whatsoever. What does that even mean?

Castle back down to where it should be

So I’m looking at the ratings for 10/20/2013 and comparing them to 11/5/2013. I skipped the previous week because of the difference due to the World Series at the 8 PM time frame, so all things being equal for those two dates at the 8 PM time frames. So on 10/20/2013, we have the following:

    8:30PM CBS 2 Broke Girls 2.5 7 7.36
    9:00PM CBS The Big Bang Theory -R 2.4 6 7.93
    FOX Sleepy Hollow -R 1.0 3 3.22
CW BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 0.3 2 0.82

    On 11/5/2013 (today), we have:

    8:30PM CBS 2 Broke Girls 2.6 7 8.12
    9:00PM CBS Mike & Molly -P 2.6 6 9.22
    FOX Sleepy Hollow 2.5 6 7.08
CW BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 0.3 1 0.68

My question is, why is there such a big discrepancy in the two viewings between total viewership (19.33 to 25.1), with almost all things being equal? That’s a loss of 6 million viewers. The former has two repeats: one different show and one of the same show. Did BATB actually lose viewers to M & M and Sleepy Hollow, or is the ratings just statistically more skewed to what networks Nielsen people watch. I suspect it is simply the latter.

@nina – “Knew Castle would be adjusted significantly. People do not realize how big football is in Green Bay/Milwaukee.”

There’s no way that’s just football. Green Bay is the 70th largest market in the nation… 70th! That’s not nearly big enough to adjust Castle down by two tenths. Likely it’s due to breaking news in New York and/or Philadelphia as well (mall shooting).

2.6 for Mike and Molly is really good, considering the state of CBS’ comedies lately.

CBS will keep Mom. They know they have a well written and well acted sitcom that needs time to find an audience and build. If a sitcom needs to be cancel they will cancel Crazy Ones.

All the NYC/Philly networks interrupted programming until, at least, 10:40 pm. Some of the Philly networks broke away early, but the NYC networks hung on hoping for blood until they cut away out of boredom.

@Alden, The CW at this point has no reason to premiere a new show on Friday. I know many people think Monday’s at 9 is the new “death spot” but look at the shows that have aired in that spot. Recently, HOD, then 90210, now BATB. HOD did fine. It depends on the program. Theoretically lets look at the options for mid season….

    1. Move BATB and premiere either Star Crossed or The 100 at 9….HOD is a weak lead in but if promoted right either show could do OK in that spot.

    2. Move BATB and bump HOD to 9 PM and premiere either Star Crossed or The 100 at 8….This is their best option IMO. A strong self starter on a more watched night of the week stands a better chance of being successful.

    3. Premiere Star Crossed or The 100 Friday’s at 8…less competition yes, but less people watch tv on Friday’s, especially 18-49 year olds. It would be bold, but there’s no reason NOT to move BATB here when Monday’s are watched by more people overall. This would mean the CW leaves Monday’s as are all season, and with a .4 and .3 rating do they really want to do that? Probably not, they want to get their Monday’s out of that pit as soon as possible especially since their Tuesday through Thursday shows are all performing reasonably in comparison.

    4. There have been slight mentions of The Tomorrow People moving to Monday’s. This could happen but if TTP stops falling I don’t think they’ll want to risk altering Wednesday’s until next fall. They would rather take on a chance on fixing Monday’s now.

Reign has a limited run so the other new show will likely go on Thursday’s at 9 after Reign’s run concludes (whether it’s run is 13 or 16 episodes or something else is anyone’s guess). Any way you look at it, most likely BATB moves to Friday’s mid-season (90 percent chance). My wish though and the best route would be to pull it completely (especially if it goes to a .2 in the following weeks) and air the remaining episodes next summer.

Why don’t you die already B&TB! Tank quick! Those flops nowadays can’t die soon enough.

How Do Cw Shows Even Make Money?

@If a sitcom needs to be cancel they will cancel Crazy Ones.

I think The Crazy Ones has a better chance of renewal personally.

  • Timmy G

@Mike they try to take into account online streaming, Netflix, downloads etc more than the other networks.

  • Ultima

With Hostages pulling a 1.1 after M&M came back, do you think CBS will finally pull it/ switch days?

No. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aired the final five episodes in December though.

  • Jenna

With all the hype that Sleepy Hollow has been getting, these are not good numbers. The 2-week hiatus cannot be used as an excuse when the show was receiving a lot of media attention during that time.

And while I do watch the show on occasion, I think it’s severely over-hyped much to its detriment. It’s not particularly good. The acting is campy and cheesy. The main character is starting to get on my nerves. The plot-lines and story lines for each episode are not very interesting and the fact that each case gets solved by the end of the episode is already boring.

This show is nothing but a poor copy of Elementary and Supernatural. I really don’t get the hype. Yes, it has diversity and I think that’s awesome but that’s no reason to overrate it.
