ABC better move The Goldbergs and TW to Wednesdays in January or they will never have a big hit comedy ever again. They screwed with Suburgatory and Apt. 23 last year and now look, Apt. 23 is cancelled and long gone while Suburgatory’s the next Happy Endings. They cancelled HTLWYP and that would’ve done good for them if ABC were just patient and meanwhile LMS and The Neighbors are both dying on Fridays. I’m not saying The Neighbors is a good show or anything… SFN sucks and should go die somewhere while we all know Mixology is gonna fail. And out of all that The Middle and MF are the only comedy hits for ABC and they’re aging rather quickly so if ABC is SO desperate to find a new hit comedy they should move Goldbergs and TW to Wednesdays cause they have potential. But we all know ABC will probably put Mixology on after MF and Suburgatory after The Middle…

I genuinely think ABC will move Trophy Wife to Wednesdays at 9:30 at mid-season. Otherwise, what’s the point of a full-season pick-up if it’s just going to sink to Lucky 7 levels? Of course, it’s still certain to be cancelled, which is a shame, because it’s easily one of the best comedies of the season.

The Goldbergs is still salvageable. ABC has got to be disappointed, though. I think they were hoping for another Modern Family-like anchor for Tuesday nights. With a little time and patience, it might become their next Middle.

I do think there’s hope for Suburgatory since it’s likely moving back to its old time slot following The Middle now that Back in the Game is no more.

Do you think ABC will rethink the defacto Cancellation of Back In The Game after seeing the disastrous numbers for The Trophy Wife and The Goldbergs, which BTW was freakin’ hilarious last night,…The last numbers for BITG, 1.7/5 6.11mil, were fantastic compared to TTW last night…..

  • JW

ABC better hope that 0.7 for the Robin Roberts special is not an omen for tonight’s CMA Awards.

@Feinn – I’m confused. Are you saying the CW should be worried about TO’s ratings?
TO is fine and Tuesday’s are a great night for the CW. I actually really enjoy TO, with the exception being Phoebe Tonkin. CMD, JM and DG are so fun to watch.
SPN – I’m not surprised it dropped. I liked the episode. It wasn’t a favorite but I enjoyed it. It looks like TPTB at SPN are determined to make an episode around a dog that works. They haven’t had much luck with that in the past and I assume people were expecting the same style of horrendous writing. Around a dog.

    @ Kissan

I agree with almost everything you said. Super Fun Night is horrible, should never have been picked up and NEVER should have been scheduled behind Modern Family. That spot should have gone to its most promising comedy, Trophy Wife, right from jump. It would already be outperforming every other show that has aired after Modern Family.

And Mixolgy is without a doubt the biggest DOA show I think I have ever seen in my life. There is NO way that is even remotely successful.

POI still hanging tough at its [lste] hour for CBS, though at a lower level than I like.

    @ rob60990

NCIS LA continues to waste a good timeslot.

Seriously ? It got a 2.4 against The Voice and is CBS’s #2 Drama.
It’s only 0.1 below SHIELD which is on its first season.

  • Jared

I have NO idea why ABC would order a full season of Trophy Wife if they dont plan on rescheduling it somewhere else. Those numbers are pathetic.

  • brian

They killed Back in the Game and renewed Trophy Wife? Sometimes, I swear I’ll never understand those wacky networks.

  • Colin

I’m freaking mad at Trophy Wife. That show is so funny…

  • feinn

@Dochas ratings are acceptable for cw, but not breakout..and for the record PT is quite enjoyable

  • Mon

Trophy Wife was almost preempted here in Houston because of election coverage. It was kind of annoying not seeing some parts of the episode. People probably just tune out.

  • Amanda

    @feinn

The Originals hasn’t dropped below 0.9 since it premiered, has been over 2mil every week and was The CW’s #2 show last week, just behind SPN. Pretty sure The CW is very happy about this particular spin off.

  • The Cool Max

NO Trophy Wife!! Always going down. The chemistry is great.

  • j

I thought Criminal Minds was CBS’s #2 drama. Just once I’d like to see how NCIS2 does without NCIS1.

  • Mon

I’m glad ABC is patient with The Neighbors, maybe Trohpy Wife will get the same or even better treatment. I saw a promo for TM’s crossover with Shark Tank. Looks hilarious! I will watch it.

  • alexia

ABC assumed AoS would be strong enough to carry the entire night. Clearly that is not the case. Trophy Wife needs to be rescheduled if they want to save it.

LMS and The Neighbors are both dying on Fridays

I wouldn’t say Last Man Standing is dying on Friday nights. It tied for the win in its slot last week!

    CBS Undercover Boss 1.4 5 9.05
    ABC Last Man Standing 1.4 5 6.36
    FOX MasterChef Jr 1.3 5 4.01
NBC Why We (Heart) Vampires 0.7 2 2.59
    CW The Carrie Diaries 0.3 1 0.89

  • THE OLD MAN

So Mindy crushes TW @ 9:30.
