Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants jumped the shark in 2012 when they let Jenna Talackova, a transgender contestant, get away with breaking the rules. Talackova answered “yes” on her application to the question, “Are you a natural born woman?” Talackova was rightfully disqualified but then the organization made a mistake by allowing someone who broke the rules to compete after all and then create a new policy to have transgender contestants compete the following year. Talackova set a bad example by breaking the rules while applying to compete in a contest. No one should get away with breaking the rules in a contest. That same year a contestant on ‘American Idol’, Jermaine Jones, answered “yes” on his application to the question, “Have you ever been arrested before?” when in fact he had been arrested. Jones was rightfully disqualified yet Talackova still got away with breaking the rules.

Remember Miss America aired on a Saturday night last January and pitted against football games but still rated a good numbers and this was aired live.

CBS can’t move to nights…only allowed to show 1 night game a year.

and with the SEC network starting next year the SEC will have a primetime game every Saturday.

How could someone like me have their ratings counted?

I basically flip between games all the time. Sometimes a couple of times a minute. Aren’t most football fans flipping around like me?

I watch the game I want to see the most and only check out other games during commercials. I think that’s what a lot of people do. Seems like advertisers are waisting their money. Lol

I like sec and pac 12 football. Always exciting games. Although florida st. Has been very fun to watch this season.

These #’s are mis-leading. CBS’ Bama game rated much higher until they pulled away. Then fans quickly turned to other action. FOX probably beat CBS in that final hr & ABC was likely a close 2nd.

Nope, it was never even close.

    Half-hour numbers (non-timezone adjusted)

    ABC – 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.6

    FOX – 0.6, 0.6, 0.6, 0.8, 0.8, 0.9

    CBS – 3.3, 3.9, 4.2, 3.6, 4.3, 4.3

Needless, to say more ND games will be moving to PT. Likely 7/12 their gms will either have started or run into PT this yr. The ACC sched will easily push that to 8/12 & if they are highly ranked then no less than 9/12. Tradition won’t stop that because that’s come to an end. No more MI & MSU ev yr. The ACC sched forces ND to fill their sched yrs in advance now. With less open dates, PT will be a greater factor in those gms.

Nonsense. Notre Dame having to drop Michigan from their schedule for another ACC opponent doesn’t mean they have to start playing their home games as night.

Ultima is the only one who actually brings in facts. All these other guys are in their own little world and provide nothing but false promise.

  • Why Watch

Absolutely nothing of value on basic cable Saturday night. Watched a good movie instead.
