@Pepper – They (CBS) moved it to a very tough spot especially after viewers have had there full on NCIS & NCISLA. But to be at 9ct & having moved nights, I still say it is doing quite well. Very well actually being that it is a late time for a drama.

Best time for dramas of this calabur are 7 or 8 pm ct Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.

1st 2 seasons was perfect for continued growth. Now I believe with this 3 episode ENDGAME arc new fans will be brought in. Last nights episode was AWARD WORTHY stuff.

POI is holding up very well considering that tues at 10 was CBS death slot. Now it looks like its monday at 10

Viewership levels not too far off, but the demo is lower. But 2.0 is still good

  • Ashton

TO does fine without TVD. I was hoping that Klaus would rip Tylers heart out. He isn’t needed on TO.

    @locke
I don’t think so they already seen a 1.1 before.

  • MARTY

pepper a .2 diff is nothing poi is safe because of it already being syndicated

    @Locke

Dream on. TO is the superior show.

I’m a huge fan of both NCIS shows. Have been for a long time. And I’m 25, so I’m not old. Both shows used to get much higher 18-49 numbers. What would account for the sharp decline in recent years. Anything to worry about?

At the risk of being laughed off the face of this website, I will suggest that one reason long-running shows which once were 18-49 darlings see a decline in the demo is simply the aging of their fan base. A portion of those 18-49ers ten years ago were 49 then and are 59 now. Unless a show has picked up an equal number of 17-year-olds as fans every year, its 18-49 demo is bound to suffer over time (even if network ratings as a whole were stable).

And if you subscribe to the theory that young people watch only shows about people their own age, the likelihood of a show picking up tons of new 18-year-old viewers every year is pretty remote.

I think this even extends to shows like “American Idol.” And with the addition of Harry Connick, Jr., to the judging panel, a singer who appealed to dinosaurs like me when he was 25, it will be even more dramatic a slide for that show this year.

chipl955 ncis is the most watched show on tv end of the story it is not going anywhere. and has far as demos it is the number 1 drama and the 3rd ranked scripted show I believe

How is scandal still on the air? Glad the ratings for SN went up, last nights show was A+.

  • Qrwanda

Indeed Matt! I hope it stays at this level throughout the rest of the season. I am just happy to see it remain over 11 million viewers. Since the shows start it has not went under 11.57 million in viewers.

    This continues the trend!!!!!!!!!

Okay. Why exactly would you steal my name on the first page ? That is lame. But imitation is the biggest form of flattery I guess.

Anyways, glad Shield didn’t adjust up

CW is doing incredible this season. They have 4 strong shows. The vampire diaries, supernatural, the originals and arrow

  • Tim

TheCW seems to be on the right path.

They have four shows performing very well (SN, TO, TVD and Arrow), two of them are solid, at least right now (TTP and Reign).

All they need to cancel now is BATB and TCD. Hart of Dixie should get it’s episodes until it reaches the required syndication-number, then kill it too. The 100 should be a solid replacement if Reign will slip more. Star Crossed should take in BATB’s space- asap so the network won’t lose even more cash.

With CBS rebooting Charmed (which should be shipped off to TheCW), they would have another show hitting 1+,
If it manages not to end up as a teenage-show. Bring back Shannen and co. for some appearances and the show will perform well for sure.

    Your welcome, theCW.

Oh, I have no doubt that “NCIS” will be around for years to come. I hope so, anyway; I like it. I was just commenting on why any show’s 18-to-49-year-old demo would decline over time: the aging of its fan base.

  • Matrix

Awesome for supernatural, definitely should get more than 10 seasons and also get a movie like X Files. 9 years later would never have thought this show would still be on our screens.

  • Joe

Looks like the Originals is a certified hit! Pretty soon it will be pulling better ratings than ABC’s pathetic flop REVENGE. :) :)

Did anybody know that The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, B99 and Mom are likely to get Emmys next year?

1.Andre Braugher is likely to get a nomination for Lead Actor In A Comedy Series for B99.

2.Marcia Gay Harden is likely to get a nomination for Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for Trophy Wife.

3.Allison Janney is likely to get a nomination for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series for Mom.

4.Brooklyn 99 is likely to get a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series.

5.Wendi McLendon-Covey is likely to get a nomination for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series for The Goldbergs.

6.Albert Tsai is likely to get a nomination for Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for Trophy Wife.

7.Betsy Brandt is likely to get a nomination for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series for Michael J. Fox Show.

8.Jo Lo Truglio is likely to get a nomination for Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for B99.

9.Michaela Watkins is likely to get a nomination for Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for Trophy Wife.

More reasons why Goldbergs, Trophy Wife and B99 all have potential to be good shows with good ratings and they can all find an audience. FOX is putting B99 after the Superbowl to get more exposure, now it’s time for ABC to move Trophy Wife after Modern Family and The Goldbergs after The Middle on Wednesdays.

Wow… Excellent for The CW tonight. I watch The Original’s live but DVR Supernatural because I’m obsessed with NCIS:LA right now. The one Crime/Cop show I’m not bored with at the moment (though I still haven’t checked out Blacklist but plan too).

Glad to see 2 of the 4 shows I watch on The CW with excellent ratings. The other two being The Tomorrow People and Nikita soon enough. I quit watching TVD last year because the writers have lost their way with all the triangle focus. I could never get into Arrow but was told to start around episode 6…. Might still try that one day.
