FROM HER NEW ALBUM PRISM
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19 AT 7:53 P.M. ET ON MTV

Special Host Iggy Azalea Sits Down for Exclusive Interview with Katy Perry during MTV FIRST: KATY PERRY UNCONDITIONALLY
Set to Air Immediately After Premiere on MTV.com
New York, NY (November 14, 2013) - Fresh off her gravity defying performance at the "2013 MTV EMA,"  MTV today announced the broadcast premiere of pop-sensation, singer and songwriter Katy Perry's new music video, "Unconditionally," on Tuesday, November 19 at 7:53 p.m. ET during MTV FIRST: KATY PERRY UNCONDITIONALLY. Immediately following the on-air reveal, rapper and model Iggy Azalea will sit down with Perry for an exclusive 30-minute interview that can be viewed on MTV.com and in the MTV App for iPhone.

The "Unconditionally" video marks a departure for Katy from her previous candy-coated and narrative-driven videos. Directed by Brent Bonacorso over 3 days in London, the video is a metaphorical exploration on the theme of true love and its impact, through dramatic imagery and a beautifully choreographed, classically-costumed dance performance.

In celebration of the forthcoming music video premiere on Thursday, November 19, AMTV, MTV Hits, MTV's 24-hour U.S. music channel, and mtvU will feature Katy Perry artist collection blocks throughout the day. After its' on-air debut on MTV, "Unconditionally" will go into rotation immediately on mtvU, MTV Hits and AMTV the following morning.

The music video premiere follows an exciting few months for Katy Perry on MTV. In August she closed out the "2013 MTV Video Music Awards" against the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge to "Roar." Most recently, she picked up her second MTV EMA award for Best Female after putting on an incredible spectacle singing her latest single, "Unconditionally," floating 30 feet in the air.

Katy Perry cemented her status as a best-selling superstar with the global success of her second studio album, Teenage Dream, which debuted at #1 in 8 countries and spent over two years on Billboard's Top 200 album sales chart. She became the only female artist to have 5 #1 singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart ("California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." and "Last Friday Night"). The special edition, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, added "Part of Me" and "Wide Awake" to Katy's list of nine Top 40 chart-toppers (dating back to her multi-platinum debut album, 2008's One of the Boys, which generated four hit singles: "I Kissed A Girl," "Hot N Cold," "Thinking of You" and "Waking Up In Vegas"). "Roar," the first single from  PRISM, became Katy's 10th #1 Top 40 track after debuting at #1 on iTunes in 68 countries with 557,024 downloads in its first week of release in the US alone, the biggest digital song sales week of 2013. Katy's 3rd album PRISM, released Oct. 22, debuted at #1 on Billboard with the biggest sales week of her career.
