Congrats to B&B. Here’s hoping November sweeps is good for all the soaps.

  • TheGoodWife

Good for B&B! What will CBS do now when they enevitably surpass Y&R? I say this because in my opinion Y&R is on its way down due to poor writing and is very boring the last year.

  • robert

Loved B&B last week. Y&R up from last year. I’m hearing Billy Miller could leave Y&R. I think that would be a huge lost for the show.

  • Sparrow

Days of Our Lives is always at the bottom. :(

  • Lynn

Well deserved ratings by B&B. Loved the location shoot in Aspen. Beautifully and professionally shot. I think CBS treats B&B like ABC did One Life to Live, as the red headed stepchild.

  • TheGoodWife

?Days is also phenomenal. I try to watch them both. It almost feels like Days and B&B are more alike than B&B and Y&R these days.

  • Derrick

Wow……………Go B&B! Eventhough Y&R is down, it’s up from last year which is still good!

B&B will get close but I don’t think it will surpass Y&R!

  • Edward

The one advantage B@B has is it’s a half-hour show. In this world of short-attention span. This works….. Especially with Stephanie leaving the show and her character being killed off.

Y@R is still fine up from last year.

  • Mike

Way to go B&B. Good job. Very impressive. B&B has a few off weeks from time to time but it is the only show that has consistently been up since 2011.

I don’t fully buy into the idea of CBS treating it like the ugly step-child. B&B is still one of the only soaps that consistenly gets to go on location shoots. The others no longer have the budget to do so.

It is strange that Brad Bell is able to do this but yet he gets no love from the soap press or fans.

This is the first week in a long time that GH has been down from year to year.

Good to see Days at least hold on. They are still at the bottom but at least they didn’t drop.

Y&R and GH were the most inconsistent during this ratings cycle. Not a good way to start sweeps.

  • TheGoodWife

Today’s B&B was fantastic and full of unpredictable surprises.

  • Lynn

B&B uses its budget wisely. Brad Bell gets that soap audiences like to get away from the studio for big events and small. Y&R could do more location shoots, too, but it uses a lot of its budget for big actor hires, like Steve Burton and Cynthia Waltros. It’s all a matter of how the EP wants to spend the money.

  • James

Even though I love GH and like, really like Y&R…damn, B&B kicks ass in ratings. Back in summer 2011…it was at 2.7 or 2.9, right? Believe so…

  • Monzo

If you compare daily numbers to prime time, Y&R and even B&B had more viewers on Thursday than X-Factor. On Monday Y&R had more viewers than Hostages, that’s weird.

  • moshane58

Congrats to B&B. With all the different storylines going on GH did not expect a fall. So much going on in one soap…

  • Mike

But if it is not the story that people want to see it doesn’t matter how many stories they have going.

GH had a lot going on from the nurse’s ball all the way through the summer but GH lost viewers consistently.

It’s the same with all the other soaps. Look at June’s ratings for Days. During a month that ratings are usually down for most soaps, people were tuning in to Days big time because the stories they wanted to see were popping. After they went back to business as usual the ratings dropped.

Whether folks won’t to believe it or not, the majority of soap viewers today are not daily viewers who tune in every day out of loyalty. There are a lot of viewers who watch for certain stories or certain actors or certain couples.

  • jr YOU WING

GH writers should be fired. The show is horrid and I have watched it since the 1970s. The children’s storylines are too ridiculous and the politically correct storylines have been deemed unwatchable. The acting stinks and Jason must return and the 3 redone roles insult people. It’s done……will be off the air in 2 years at this rate or else actors will work dirt cheap to keep this trash running.

  • jr YOU WING

GH writers should be fired already and enough with these politically correct relationships already. It does not work. The 3 recasted actors are insulting to watch. Jason must return. AJ was probably written out, deservedly so. Too many children storylines as well. I am an expert having watched this show since the 1970s and the actors will be working for peanuts soon to support this garbage. Sonny rocks. The rest of the show is annoying to watch. How many fake DNA tests can 1 hospital put out?

  • Retro

I can’t believe they are people who still watch soap operas in this day and age.

  • Mike

There are a lot of things I can’t believe that go on in this day and age. But hey they do.

Go figure. There are actually people out there that like everything. Life is kind of funny that way.

Who would have ever thought it.

  • Edward

It shows people still love a nice well told story and how it unrolls. It’s a lost art in television. Soap Opera actors are some of the best people, workers and actors on this planet.
