The average viewership increase From DVR Viewing ranks which of the top broadcast shows [by Live+7 viewers] had the largest absolute increase in average viewership by DVR between the Live + Same Day and Live + 7 day ratings measurements.

Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Do the Live+7 ratings tell us anything about a show's renewal prospects we didn't already know from the Live+Same Day ratings?  No.  Click here to learn more.

Whoa the Tomorrow People reached 1.0 and Reign 0.9! Thats really solid increase, no wonder CW gave full orders. Beauty and the Beast still manages more than Carrie with DVR and it really has stable numbers. Pretty good for Dracula too.

  • Jayson

    Great numbers for Grey’s!

  • violet hour

go CW your shows are awesome and entertaining

  • Valentin

    The CRAZY ONES :D YEAHHH!!!

  • Ally Oop

Hart of Dixie didn’t make the list. Doesnt bode well for a fourth season, syndication-prospects or not. I love the show but it really doesn’t fit into what The CW has become, the same goes for Carrie Diaries. I’m gonna predict cancellation for Hart of Dixie, Beauty & the Beast, Carrie Diaries and Star-Crossed. As long as Tomorrow People and Reign continue to do well (above 1.5 million), and The Hundred succeeds, as I suspect it will, providing it isn’t scheduled on Fridays, they should all be renewed alon with The Originals which I already consider a sure bet for renewal.

  • Sheila

    Go Nashville :)

  • Linda E.

Good for HF-0. Nice increase in the demo and total viewers, even if they don’t mean much.

  • Raffie

    @katiebug

Fox aired the World Series that week. There was minimal original programming that aired new episodes.

  • Juan

Wow at Nashville, I think it needs to move timeslot to a more compatible night maybe, I don’t know but it was watched just as much on DVR and as live. Also really happy for Grey’s and Scandal being in the top of the chart, love both

  • Stacie

    Yay Revolution!!

  • Debra

Not that it means anything bc the show’s renewal is a certainty.

But has anybody else noticed that when it comes to the demo NCIS LA has been missing from the charts for the last several weeks.

  • Avery

    TCD doing worse than BATB
    Reign doing worse than TTP…

  • Rob

@Carol R. I don’t believe that is the case at all. Sometimes I am not even home at 8pm, therefore I can’t watch the show live. Just because a show makes this list doesn’t make it undesireable. On the contrary, in my opinion.

  • Maya

    Terrible for Reign.

What did HOD get? Not a good sign its not on the list

  • Skylar James

Not good for Carrie, still dead last for the CW

  • Andy

Let’s hope this will help with Nashville and Parenthood getting another season.

  • The 47th

Great for Parenthood, even though these numbers mean nothing.

  • Winston

Dixie could have easily gotten a .6-.7 20%-30% increase and just not made the list, which only shows the to 25 gainers and bottoms out at 50% this week

  • iSayso

Meh, why DVR at all? Repeats all over the place, continually. Lazy people.

  • Miles R.

Great news for Nashville! If only more people would watch live..
