Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I watched Almost Human and enjoyed it. There were a few times when I felt like leaving, but I was glad I stuck around until the end. As other people have mentioned, there is definitely a lot of room for growth. Also watched The Mentalist and it was a very good episode, with excellent acting. The show is treating its fans right. If only CBS scheduling were as kind. Next week is the Red John episode, and I hope to god that they don’t end up postponing it. That would be disgusting beyond words.

  • Donna

Bones fans have too high an opinion of themselves.

  • HalCapone

OMG. CBS just announced Homer Simpson is going to make an appearance on The Good Wife to boost the ratings. Doh! Seriously, I read it somewhere…

  • Bay

@Dave V You wish, so Tom Brady and the Patriots aren’t a big football draw…in what country?

  • John K.

The Good Wife will likely be adjusted up since some of it aired past 10pm (Mentalist might be adjusted down, too). Anyway, The Good Wife obviously does better when it airs later. Why not move it to 10pm for Winter to see if that continues?

Quite frankly I think OUAT deserves those numbers. I thought the first season was great because there was mystery and intrigue about all the character’s backstory. Also definitely not enough fights with swords or bows and arrows. I thought it would be a little darker and grim with its story lines but overall the first season was interesting. Now it seems like all they do is harp on the power of love and family. Not to mention they should start playing, “I’m my own grandpa” as their theme song.

I always like to finish a season if am this far along, but I will probably bail after this season.

  • Charmed

Once Upon A Time further self destructs, last nights episode was horrible. Just when I thought that terrible Neverland story was done, BAM! This extends it by at least 5 episodes, 5 more than I can handle. Idk if I can continue watching, I wanna go back to Storybrooke and season 1. They have completely took the show in the wrong direction since the season 1 finale, season 1 was amazing, season 2 was bearable, so far season 3 is absolutely terrible.

  • OUAT Fan

OUAT was pre-empted in Chicago for 25 minutes and joined in progress due to tornado coverage.

  • Abed

After all this time I keep asking myself how much could do family guy after Football XD Still a 2.2 is ok. Expected more from The Simpsons…

    Donna
“Sleepy Hollow: you get the Fringe co-creators, the quirky humor, the ongoing mythology, the grossout factor, the quotable lead character, the badass female cop and John Noble. Almost Human: You get the special effects, the Vancouver locations, the cases of the week, the Fringe crew and showrunner, and the serious sci-fi themes.”

    Boo yeah!

I think Almost Human needs at least a 2.6 tonight to be deemed a success.

  • JIll

@Donna In what way, when an official Fox ad mocks heroine Brennan as being an android like the robot and moves the show with no advertising. Not one promo yesterday during the whole football Sunday, but at least 20 robotcop2 promos. Seriously, we have a right to be pissed. It’s called no respect and that’s what we gotten from Fox for NINE years.

  • Sebastian P

@cassey Yes! I was also thinking that they should get Shonda Rhimes for Revenge; she have had 4 shows on ABC (plus its upcoming lawless) and Revenge is as dark as its stories, but this new show runner isn’t doing bad at all.

  • gerry

    glad to see revenge up!

    come on, TGW, adjust UP!

  • a p garcia

Good numbers for AH. Tonight, I would predict a 2.5 but still a good leadin to SH.

  • Charmed

Sleepy Hollow lost 6 tenths in the second half, it’s gonna flop next week

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Russ

I don’t think the ratings for OUAT are dead as it’s still one of the highest rated dramas on ABC, but I do think both the ratings & the story lines are not nearly as good as seasons 1 & 2.

  • Charmed

*Almost Human not Sleepy Hollow lol

  • Fake Me Out

Too many comments to wade through but has anybody pointed out that if large portions of the country were preempted for storm coverage there is a strong possibility there will be a lot of adjustments down as those viewers are removed from the ratings? At what point do the nets and/or Neilsen’s call the night a wash and not count the ratings in the overall annual totals?

  • Raffie

AH was just okay. Feel like its the only show fox has promoted at all the last 3 weeks. 3.1 will certainly fall, but I could see it pulling low/mid 2s for a few weeks. Also look for Bones pulling mid 1s going forward, providing at least a temporary boost to both nights. Pilots are commonly iffy, and there is at least some potential for excitement in the show that there just isn’t with an old procedural like Bones. If AH bombs out, they can always go conservative and put Bones back next to the Following come the new year.

  • Cyrax86

@Charmed, The creators of OUAT already revealed it in the summer that the first half of the season will be the Neverland arc. And when it’s over, nearly a THREE month gap till the second half starts!
