Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast. For more information see Numbers 101 and Numbers 102.

Almost Human fell because the pilot was a bit dry. The second episode was SOOO much better. I hope the show survives somehow.

  • dust

Almost Human sounded almost as dumb as Mob Doctor did. Hope it dies quickly.

  • eridapo

I expect Castle to be adjusted 2 to 3 tenths in the finals which will put it on par with last week, but I believe the viewer totals will remain north of 11 million which makes this result very impressive. It held better against the Voice than I expected even when you discount the football numbers.

Remember — Boston is 2.07% of National Total Media Market and Charlotte is 1.0%.

  • Deo

So, how much of a downward adjustment can be expected for Castle? A 0.3, leaving it at a 2.0?:(
It was such a great episode, sigh:(

  • r0ckmypants

@Samunto – “What was the point of NBC airing recap at 8? The 10pm episodes of The Voice have been rating lowly.”

    3.2 is low? At 10:00?

    No.

  • hmm

I hate football related adjustments! I’m interested to see if DWTS gained any from last week and hoping Castle only adjusts down .3 *crosses fingers*

  • Clarke

It really is amazing how steady HOD & BATB are. I know these are really low numbers, but it is quite remarkable how loyal their small fan-bases are.

I think “DWTS” ran over by a minute. We’ll see in the finals

Overruns don’t make that much of a difference when the two shows are similarly rated to each other. It’s the football numbers being pulled out that will probably cause an adjustment.

  • DaveV

Even if it adjusts down to a 2.1, that would be pretty good for Castle going against the Voice

  • Ronak

Castle will adjust down, but even so a nice showing against the behemoth that is The Voice. Of course Castle and TB share an audience (as can be seen by the excellent DVR numbers both shows put up), so that is a factor too.

Why CBS are trying to run a third procedural there (Intelligence) is beyond me. Doomed to fail.

AH did much worse than I was expecting.

  • Scream

    Castle!!!! I’m happy!

  • vanquished

Almost Human is a great show.

  • THE OLD MAN

CBS still dire from 9-11:00, but 8-9:00 still strong

ABC may be inflated, will wait for finals

Big THUD from the AH DUD, but SH holds own

The Voice Monday low is still heard, but the CW is nothing to sing about

  • grey

Because of football I’m automatically going to assume “Castle” will be adjusted down. That always *seems* to be the case 99.99999% of the time when ABC affiliates are pre-empted for NFL. I realize that’s not an accurate percentage but it sure *seems/feels* that way. So, factoring in those pre-emptions and a possible “DWTS” overrun by one minute (what’s his face at the judges table got long winded right at the end) I’m predicting at least a one to two tenth adjustment down for “Castle” in the finals (2.0). I know there will most likely be other adjustments but right now that 8PM hour sure was fairly evenly distributed between ABC, NBC, and FOX. All shows with a 6 share.

  • Boiler

Hart of Dixie did fine last year but competition unreal this year. Need a show like this on TV!!

  • Samunto

    @r0ckmypants
The Voice does better 8-10pm. The episodes they aired Tuesdays at 10 always did less than 9-10 though in season 1 it did well. It’s a family show 8-10pm!
I know it’s 10pm but that’s also how The Blacklist has been doing.

    That recap was useless.

  • Trice

If only almost human would kill off or replace Minka kelly
Bring back the evil girl friend it could be save .

As for Sleepy Hollow going up against the Voice
Pulling in 2.5 wow and they building in the head of house hold
7.07 rating is awesome .I see no reason why SH can’t do a full
    22 episode for season 2.

  • Helen

FOX should give Bones its time slot back now. Almost Human won’t do well – woo hoo!

  • cameron

The people rejoicing about almost human not doing so awesome are beyond annoying. I see almost human adjusting up and possibly improving.

  • Ike

If Almost Human can manage to stabilize then it could survive. I guess there’s not much chance of stabilizing but hopefully it will not slip too much next week. I like it more so far than I thought I would. Nice to see some decent sci-fi on a major network. I’m probably grasping at straws but I would not be surprised to see this do especially well on DVR, legal online streaming methods, etc. (Bingo card time?)
