FOX is announcing schedule changes, set to take place in early 2014.

Last season’s No. 1 new series, THE FOLLOWING, returns for its thrilling 14-week second season with a special two-night season premiere event, beginning Sunday, Jan. 19 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (live, 6:00-10:00 PM ET). The two-night event continues with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 20 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following the season finale of SLEEPY HOLLOW, airing at a special time (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

Bold new legal drama RAKE debuts on Thursday, Jan. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following an all-new American Idol (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Making his broadcast television series debut, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Greg Kinnear (“Little Miss Sunshine,” “The Kennedys”) plays a brilliant and frustratingly charming criminal defense attorney, whose chaotic and self-destructive personal life often gets in the way of his professional one.

Changes to Tuesday nights begin after The Mindy Project (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) airs its Winter Finale on Jan. 28. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE moves to its new time period premiere at 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT, following all-new installments of New Girl (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). DADS continues to kick off Tuesdays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) until Tuesday, Feb. 11.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Glee makes Tuesdays sing when it moves to a new day and time and returns with all-new episodes for the remainder of the season. All-new installments of New Girl (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) and BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) follow, until The Mindy Project returns Tuesday, April 1 (9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), with a special one-hour event featuring all-new back-to-back episodes. The series returns to its regular time period beginning Tuesday, April 8 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Additional premiere dates and schedule information to be announced.

As previously announced, new comedy ENLISTED will debut Friday, Jan. 10 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). And, following FOX Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, Feb. 2 (6:00-10:30 ET live), an all-new episode of New Girl will air (10:30-11:00 PM ET/7:30-8:00 PM PT), followed by an all-new episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (11:00-11:30 PM ET/8:00-8:30 PM PT).

  • James

Raising Hope stays in the death slot :(

  • Aron

Well the current fall schedule isn’t working out. since glee is shipping off to tuesday do that mean every comedy besides new girl isn’t airing 22 episodes this season

  • swc316

This seems extremely complicated?! I guess this means Dads and Mindy are pretty likely to be cancelled at the end of the season?

  • Thiago

Enlisted is pretty much canceled right?

  • Fabio

The Following yaaaaay!!! It will be a hit once again

  • spinthesky

    Ugh, more schizophrenic scheduling.

  • Shain

    What happened to Surviving Jack?

  • Ryan T

Good luck to anyone who watches Tuesdays at FOX. Looks like a few months of convoluted musical chairs.

  • Matthew Chapman

Do i sense a Summer burn off for Dads?

  • AllOfHerTw!st

It looks like they’re burning off Dads and trying to grow B99 by putting it after New Girl. And if Rake implodes, Bones can move back to Thursdays.

  • DamC

@Aron only Dads won’t air 22 episodes this season it seems

  • Greg

I like everything except for two things:

    1) they’re insisting on airing Enlisted after Raising Hope. Sigh. I was really looking forward to that show. Dads should get dumped there, but I’m guessing they secretly reduced its order.

    2) I don’t like that New Girl isn’t ending the same time as Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Even if it has two extra episodes, it could just end on April 15 and then they could premiere either Surviving Jack or Us & Them in that timeslot. That’s at least better than just sandwiching a New Girl rerun between originals of Glee and Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Mindy.

  • JackB

    W…t…f…

  • Mitchell

God this is complicated. Where is Surviving Jack? Is the season finale of Dads on February 11? And how many episodes of B99/NG/Dads/Mindy are actually ordered this season? Seems like a lot of juggling.

  • Mon

A mess as usual especially Tuesday.

  • swc316

I thought New Girl had 24, Dads and B99 had 22. How about Mindy?

  • Dan

Well thats solves the “Where’s Glee gong mystery”, which is good because Rake can air its 15 episode season straight through on Thursdays while Glee can move to Tuesdays.

This is a good idea, less repeats, FOX wants Brooklyn Nine-Nine to succeed after New Girl.

Dads may actually move to 7:30 Sundays if no other slots are available.

@Shain – Surviving Jack will air 8 episodes Thursdays after American Idol.

I think all current Tuesday comedies have 22 episodes.

  • Last Words

Didn’t realize 99 had such a short season. Brooklyn 99 after New Girl was a solid choice, but not sure Glee is going to get the night off to such a great start. Looks like they’re burning Dads off, sorta. (Good grief, the ratings that night where it goes Dads, Dads, NG, 99. That could get ugly.)

  • SVU: Hannibal

Dads has 13 episodes left, so if it airs every Tuesday (including Christmas Eve and NY Eve) between now and Feb 11 it would have aired it’s full 22 order.

Surviving Jack is presumably still airing behind AI Results.

    Mindy takes a vacay. :(

And I assume B99 will have a lot of reruns in Dec/Jan to pad it out until April 1.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

People may want to make a mental note right now that The Follwing will be a 2-night premiere (Sunday and Monday) in January.
