FOX is announcing schedule changes, set to take place in early 2014.

Last season’s No. 1 new series, THE FOLLOWING, returns for its thrilling 14-week second season with a special two-night season premiere event, beginning Sunday, Jan. 19 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (live, 6:00-10:00 PM ET). The two-night event continues with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 20 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following the season finale of SLEEPY HOLLOW, airing at a special time (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

Bold new legal drama RAKE debuts on Thursday, Jan. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following an all-new American Idol (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Making his broadcast television series debut, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Greg Kinnear (“Little Miss Sunshine,” “The Kennedys”) plays a brilliant and frustratingly charming criminal defense attorney, whose chaotic and self-destructive personal life often gets in the way of his professional one.

Changes to Tuesday nights begin after The Mindy Project (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) airs its Winter Finale on Jan. 28. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE moves to its new time period premiere at 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT, following all-new installments of New Girl (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). DADS continues to kick off Tuesdays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) until Tuesday, Feb. 11.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Glee makes Tuesdays sing when it moves to a new day and time and returns with all-new episodes for the remainder of the season. All-new installments of New Girl (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) and BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) follow, until The Mindy Project returns Tuesday, April 1 (9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), with a special one-hour event featuring all-new back-to-back episodes. The series returns to its regular time period beginning Tuesday, April 8 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Additional premiere dates and schedule information to be announced.

As previously announced, new comedy ENLISTED will debut Friday, Jan. 10 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). And, following FOX Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, Feb. 2 (6:00-10:30 ET live), an all-new episode of New Girl will air (10:30-11:00 PM ET/7:30-8:00 PM PT), followed by an all-new episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (11:00-11:30 PM ET/8:00-8:30 PM PT).

  • Bram

Mindy probably has 22 and I think it will get there on May 6th. Of course, Fox has more announcements.

  • Jonay

What about “Us&Them” , “Gang Related” , and “Surrving Jack”?

  • Jonay

I think some unaired episodes of “Dads” will be used to full in the DOA “enlisted” times lot!

  • Bram

lol i’m not even going to ask about Mulaney. They should up the order to 13!

  • Maya

    What a disaster, so messy!

  • Shain

@Dan I’m just confused when they are lsiting other shows for March that they aren’t mentioning this one. I’m just worried that since the order was cut it might never see the light of day.

  • chris

    @ Shain

It’ll probably air in the summer like The Goodwin Games was.

  • Jordan

    Complete mess.

  • Kimberly

OK, I assume they’re trying to figure out if they can grow B99 to make the decision whether to cancel TMP. If it fails in the time period, they’ll keep Mindy. They obviously want to give TMP as much credit as they can, or it wouldn’t be coming back at all after the winter finale.

Come on, FOX, do me a solid and keep Mindy. I’ll even promise to start watching the insufferable, insipid New Girl again.

  • Dobrinsky

Let’s not kid ourselves. This is also Mindy’s last year.

  • Alec

So let’s just kill New Girl by putting 2 eps of Dads before it…

  • were123

Now this is a bit shocking… there’s a lot of moves there; I don’t know if Glee will improve FOX Tuesday’s at all; it worked ok 2 seasons ago, but now… we’ll see. Brooklyn 9-9 following New Girl was a no brainer considering that it is FOX’s 2nd highest rated comedy and that Mindy is underperforming. Rake to Thursdays makes sense, but following American Idol will not be a guarentee of good ratings (i.e, Breaking In, Touch).
The Following after the NCF Championship makes sense

  • Last Words

Sorry, Kimberly, the ‘not nearly a fraction as clever as it thinks it is’ Mindy experiment is over.

But on the bright side for you, that pile of crap almost took New Girl down with it.

  • BB

    I thought ABC as bad.

  • Blaster

So now Glee will be going up against Pretty Little Liars? Considering they share the same demographic, expect another ratings drop…

  • Kate

Smart of them to premiere The Following after the NFC game.

  • Dobrinsky

Poor Mindy. She had that special episode planned where every line of dialogue is a pop culture reference.

    :(

  • Raffie

Brooklyn 99 after New Girl is a no-brainer. It can’t hemorrhage as much of audience as the Mindy Project does. Not sure that Glee is the way to go to boost the ratings, though.

  • marc

B99 has 2 more episodes this year (=11), airings on January 7, 14, 21, 28 (=15), the Super Bowl episode (=16) and further airings on February 4, 11, 25 (=19) and March 4, 11, 18 and 25 (=23 episodes). that’s more than enough time to air the whole season.

  • Bee

this is at once very complicated and very simple lol

    - dads ending early
starting superbowl day, B99 will be airing after new girl (this is actually smart considering B99′s potential and the possible superbowl push)
    - mindy project goes on hiatus during feb and march so B99 can air after new girl as said above.
    - once B99′s season is done, mindy returns in april in its normal slot.
    - glee moves to tuesdays; rake replaces it on thursday
