Hi Diana, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well. Thanks for your reply and I totally see your perspective.

I don’t think you’re a bigot by any means – It’s just hard for many outsiders to see this perspective when some claim just parts of the Bible as mandatory, but totally disregarding other parts (even when they are in the same chapter and book). That comes across as hate or an easy way to channel hate without saying it plainly.

If one takes a stand against a certain thing, whether it be gays or eating shellfish, they should comply with all the rules before they could be taken seriously … including not wearing mixed fabrics, refraining from cutting a woman’s hair and covering your head in public. Once that happens, I can totally respect the point of view that gays should be marginalized and not treated equally.

Rstar, I do understand how confusing the concept of ritual vs. moral laws must be to you if you’re not a Christian. Law is law, right? But we believe Christ died for our sins, so we no longer need to worry about whether we’re keeping the Law in all its points. His blood covers everything. We do, however, try to be like Him as much as we can, even though we fail miserably every day. “What would Jesus do”, it seems cliche, I know, but it’s how we try to live. And we use the Bible, particularly the New Testament, as our guide. It’s a New Covenant. And I don’t believe gays should be treated unequally. But for me, marriage is between a man and a woman. Saying you’re getting unequal treatment for this is like saying you’re getting unequal treatment because you can’t have a baby the old-fashioned way. And I don’t appreciate my POV being constantly bashed and made fun of in the media. It’s religious discrimination. That’s just the way I see it, didn’t mean to turn this into a sermon, lol.

I don’t think anyone gets the comparison of two people having the right to marry to not having children the “old-fashioned” way. It is biologically impossible for two people of the same sex to have a child the “old-fashioned” way….not discriminating or unfair. To tell someone I can marry the person I love but you can’t because a book that nobody can PROVE is true says it is wrong. Church and federal laws should be separate. You don’t have to believe it should be law or a basic human right but you have no right to push your beliefs on others. There is a separation of church and state. Maybe you should pray for them……

Not many worked at Nielsen on Thursday and Friday of last week. So they are behind and the prime time ratings for each day will take precedence. SON will release them when they get them.

One holiday we got the delayed ratings on a Wednesday. And then the newest ratings a few days later.

The ratings we are waiting on will not be fore last week but the week before.

We will get the week before Thanksgiving first and then the week of Thanksgiving most likely on the weekend or Monday.

Hmmm, interesting, but how would you suggest prooving or disprooving a book two thousand years old? I’d rather believe and be wrong than the other way around. As for gay marriage I say why not let them be as miserable and ultimately in divorce court like the straights?

  • diana

Chrisann, I’ll stop pushing my beliefs on others when they stop pushing their beliefs on me. Someone’s worldview has to prevail. In states where there is gay marriage, students are taught “diversity training”, which tells them they are bigots if they think there is anything wrong with it. Bigots for believing in the Bible. I know, I know, you say there’s no proof the Bible is true. Well, there’s no proof for Darwinism either, but is readily accepted because “most scientists say so”. And even if there is no proof that will satisfy YOU, I am still free to believe in the Bible in this country AND to raise my children in this belief. The Bible has not one good thing to say about homosexuality, Old or New Testaments. No amount of social pressure will make me abandon my faith in this Holy Book.

  • Chrisann D

Jonboy Not to nit pic but the bible is 6000 years old. The Earth is billions of years old. My point was believe what you believe that’s great. I have nothing against the Bible. But when your beliefs infringe on others rights that is wrong. Marriage is a privilege or a right that should be for everyone as long as both parties are of age and are consenting.

  • Chrisann D

Jonboy I’m sorry the Bible isn’t 6000 years old the Bible says the Earth is 6000 years old.

  • Mike

I hope on the next ratings we can actually discuss the numbers or the soaps.

  • Marissa

    Same here. :)

And speaking of Jackie Zeman…it just makes me sad to see her onscreen. I’m not trying to be mean, but she’s overdone it with the fillers, etc.
