they should have cast j. august richards as a regular…he was one of the few interesting things about the pilot…

I think there’s only one person that I know who wouldn’t say “Who?” when reading this headline and article. He’s big in Joss World but nowhere else. It’s a problem with the show for sure. Don’t get me wrong, his character was interesting but honestly, this casting isn’t press release quality. They’ve hardly impressed from the casting and guest star angle especially given those who have graced Marvel films in recent years.

He was brought back due to fan response, possibly including people who only knew him from the pilot since that’s one thing people have been asking for. Few expect the movie stars to appear, but there’s an interest in having more superheroes period. Plus it suggests that there’s going to be more of a cohesive story arc in place. So far Centipede has made an appearance here or there, but not quite in a big bad capacity.

Good. Maybe they will kill off the boring lead guy (so boring I can’t even remember his name) and replace him with j. This show, in addition to needing more interesting characters, desperately needs more diversity in its cast. Only one non-lily-white lead, and almost all of the black characters have been villains of the week (and almost all of the villains have been non-white). It is really disappointing. And this is from a white girl who is usually oblivious to these things. It has to be glaringly obvious for me to notice.
