The average viewership increase From DVR Viewing ranks which of the top broadcast shows [by Live+7 viewers] had the largest absolute increase in average viewership by DVR between the Live + Same Day and Live + 7 day ratings measurements.

Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Do the Live+7 ratings tell us anything about a show's renewal prospects we didn't already know from the Live+Same Day ratings?  No.  Click here to learn more.

Can you verify the ONCE UPON A TIME numbers, please? I believe this week scored a 2.1 in L+SD. The week before had scored a 2.3.

  • Brian

    Wow at TVD pulling a 2.0 (!)

they shouldn’t cancel Parenthood, it would need a better slot to provide 1.6+ again.

  • Melanie

Thanks, Sara. Do you know what Supernatural and the Tomorrow People got? The Cw is interesting for this because, of all the networks, they actually seem to care about this.

  • Jami

I thought something was weird about these numbers. REVOLUTION is usually in all 3 categories.

  • Mi

Arrow had 1.0 at November 6 so looks like both Arrow and Scandal’s numbers are wrong in this table.

  • Arrow2

    Arrow got 1.0 this week

  • CBSviewer

The Crazy Ones viewership is probably wrong !

  • seth2834

Almost everything in this list is wrong.

  • Tom

As much as I like Nashville it did not hit 1.7 that week but 1.5.

  • Michael

Brian, TVD has gone up to like 2.4 before, with LIVE +7!

  • Mi

Also, Grimm had 1.3 and Revolution had 1.4, not 1.5 as this table says.

  • Epidrone

    Yay, Elementary!

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Sara Bibel

The numbers have been corrected. Thanks to all of you for pointing out my error to me!

  • Sarah

    Bones numbers please?

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Sara Bibel

    Bones went from a 2.0 to a 2.9 for a 45 percent gain on Monday, November 4

  • I Love TV!

    So low…. BATB only 0.5!

  • Felipe Nikita

Where are u seeing TVD? I cant find it

  • Carl

You don’t see SPN on the chart too often these days. I know a lot of people thought people tuned out of the dog episode because it was bad – it looks like a lot of people just DVRed it, as 1.5 isn’t far off from what they usually get with L+7, is it?

  • DonnaT

@ Felipe TVD was on the “first chart”, Sara has since posted the correct chart.

  • Noel

Very nice for Dracula! Hope it stays!
