Note: In a number of markets (including Miami, Tampa, and the entire states of Tennessee, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota), CBS prime programming was delayed by either 10 or 17 minutes.  Ratings for CBS are tentative and subject to change.

Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

great another awards show, so glad I work on Sunday, and its nice to know there was still enough men to keep football ratings strong

  • Douglas from Brazil

H5O and Blue Bloods are doing better on Fridays than TGW and TM on Sundays, that’s a problem for both Sundays shows.

  • AMC

The Good Wife continues to kick some butt!

amc 1.3 less than ten million only hostages lower rated on cbs. kicking butt?

  • Wanda

The award show and football is why the other shows were down even more than usual. It will not be like that next week for ABC anyway, for the game on NBC it will still get it’s ratings.

  • AMC

The Good Wife won the night. Critics agree.

  • Epidrone

AMC, that’s a miserable performance for TGW. It should be doing much better. Five years. Tons of nominations. A favorable media. Syndication. Night propped by football.

As a fan of good TV, I’m sad for it. If it was averaging 1.6 a week, CBS might keep it around. 1.3? CBS can’t renew that. That’s sub-Friday level. It might help shows like Elementary, though. I know E isn’t considered a bubble show by the indexes, but I wish it could grow.

  • Epidrone

AMC, if critics had anything to do with a show’s success when it came to renew/cancel decisions, our airwaves would be full of brilliant and low-rated dramas.

  • rob60990

    Fantastic for AMAs.

LOL at the Good Wife going right back down being the lowest rated show on CBS this week.

The Simpsons couldnt even crack a 3 with that lead-in and Bobs Burgers continues to be a big loser.

rob hostages was lowest rated on cbs

  • rob60990

Oops i forgot about Hostages. Oh its pretty much cancelled anyways.

  • TVTalk

Too bad The Good Wife weren’t on another network. If it were on NBC or even ABC it would be renewed by now and a “hit show”.

  • Douglas from Brazil

The Good Wife will get the final season of 13 episodes like Medium, remember?
The Mentalist could face cancellation in May or get a final season of 13 ep too.

  • HalCapone

Apologies for being off ratings topic but would someone please explain to me why Miley Cyrus is considered a singer. Geez, I’ve made more appealing sounds with finger nails on a chalkboard and cracking my knuckles. Is it safe to say that her manufactured good girl gone bad persona is the reason for her popularity and not her musical talent?

rob it is easily done as is goodwife and mentalist

douglas medium was on nbc cbs picked it up because it was cbs produced and they wanted an ending for syndication purposes

when nbc ended medium it had 95 episodes and we all know cbs wants over 100 for most of it shows

  • Matt M.

Wow, that’s amazing for the AMA’s. Up almost 5 million viewers from last year. Good promotion spot for ABC.

  • kb

Next Sunday’s game will be way lower because of two losing teams. Even though it will be New York vs Washington. Quality beats market size in the NFL.

  • Brandon

The Mentalist last night was such a huge letdown. Very disappointed. (Still hoping for a slim miracle that the guy Jane killed was really not RJ.)
