Each year, the President of the United States ceremonially pardons one or more turkeys from becoming part of the national Thanksgiving dinner. Now you can play the part of the President, and choose which ABC ratings turkeys you'd spare from consumption by the Cancellation Bear. The big difference being, the turkeys that the President spares actually get to live, your choices (like every internet poll) are just for meaningless fun.

Every scripted show currently on the air for ABC is in the poll.

As they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

“Why is Super Fun Night certain to be canceled, yet sitting beside a bunch of certain to be renewed shows?”

Super Fun Night's position in the list is determined by its ratings average, which has yet to “catch up” to its recent ratings declines.

However, its prediction is based primarily on the fact that it didn’t receive a full season order. There are very isolated instances of Fall premiere rookie shows without full season orders being renewed for a second season, but it’s not even remotely the way to bet.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

Notes:

  • - certain to be cancelled by May, 2014
  • - more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2014
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2014
  • :) :) :) :) - more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2014
  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2014

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Trophy Wife is doing horribly, yes, but it’s cute. Selfishly, I’d keep it. I’d also keep Revenge and anything with 5 smiles.

  • Jill

Want to keep Nashville. My favorite show right now

  • Midnight

Of the shows actually in danger, I would save Trophy Wife, which is a charming, funny family comedy that ABC should have moved to its Wednesday line-up at midseason. I wouldn’t save OUAT in Wonderland because it was only supposed to be one season anyways unless the ratings were great.

  • Bad Wolf

I’d save Revenge, it sure doesn’t deserve all the bashing it’s getting right now.

  • Ronak

Only show I’m interested in is already safe for next year. Nothing in danger is worth keeping.

  • Cyrax86

Castle, The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, The Middle, Modern Family, Once Upon A Time in Wonderland, Scandal, Last Man Standing, The Neighbors, Once Upon A Time

  • gerry

trophy wife, nashville and revenge are the shows i’m worried about right now. why is scandal even on here? we know that, greys, mf aren’t going anywhere.

  • breathesgelatin

What changed between this week and last week that Betrayal is now de facto cancelled? Did I miss a press release? (Not questioning that it will be cancelled, just curious what the news is!)

  • Dan S

Number 1 show worth saving is The Goldbergs. I’m surprised to see established hits like Modern Family included in these polls since there’s no doubt it’ll return. I also voted for the ratings troubled Trophy Wife which would’ve found a more appreciative audience after MF.

  • Ted Craig

I’m not a fan of either show, but based on several metrics it seems the smarter move for ABc would have been canceling Trophy Wife and moving Super Fun Night to Tuesdays. Trophy Wife delivers absolutely zip for the network.

  • gh4chiefs

Well Nashville is one of my favorite shows and i would vote to save it because it’s future looks bleak. Not sure why it can’t find an audience. The one I would save, God help me, is The Neighbors. I know it’s a silly/stupid show but I just find Simon Templemon’s performance to be a riot. Something about his delivery of some of the most ridiculous lines in his earnest, deadpan, proper British accent just slays me.

  • THE OLD MAN

Of the shows actually in danger, I’d save Nashville & The Goldbergs

  • N

Really like OUAT in Wonderland but apparently nobody agrees with me… Among the shows in danger this deserves cancellation the least!

  • Tran

Keepers: Castle, Once Upon a Time, Agents of SHIELD, The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, The Middle, Modern Family, Nashville, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and Last Man Standing. Goners: Betrayal, Back in the Game, Super Fun Night, Revenge, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and The Neighbors.

  • The Cool Max

Trophy Wife and Goldbergs!! Two unique shows this seasons. Keepers!!

  • Jared

The Goldberg’s is easily the BEST new comedy of the Fall. ABC should realize its worth saving and give it a other season to grow.

  • Jared

ABC will keep Revenge and get it to syndication numbers and use it next season as spackle.

  • Rose

    Keep Nashville!

  • Jill

Nashville !!! By far, the only bubble show worth saving.

  • CraveRecords

Hopefully ABC gets its scheduling right next year. None of the shows on Tuesday are compatible with one another, Sunday has similar problems, SFN is an unfunny version of The Mindy Project and makes no sense between MF and Nashville. Mixology will fail in that slot as did Apartment 23 and Happy Endings.

I hope to see Sundays 9 to 11 just have specials and movies scheduled next year and Revenge back on Wednesdays. However, that Wednesday spot will probably be reserved for the most promising new drama unless Grey’s moves to Thursdays at 8.
