Each year, the President of the United States ceremonially pardons one or more turkeys from becoming part of the national Thanksgiving dinner. Now you can play the part of the President, and choose which CBS ratings turkeys you'd spare from consumption by the cancellation bear. The big difference being, the turkeys that the President spares actually get to live, your choices (like every internet poll) are just for meaningless fun.

Every scripted show currently on the air for CBS is in the poll.

As they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Definitely The Good Wife. I trust the Kings could come up with a satisfying ending even if only given short notice, but it’d be nice if they at least had a final season announcement to give the show the kind of send-off that suits it. Something subtle and slow-burning rather than one episode that tries to wrap it all up.

  • Why Watch

NCIS is getting old and stale. POI has taken an interesting twist. Could live without Elementary if that were cancelled. Don’t care for the Sunday evening dramas.

  • The Cool Max

Why is HIMYM on the list, if it’s the final season?

  • ferretrick

Can we instead vote for which ones we’d like to stuff in the oven and turn the heat up high? Because that’s how How I Met Your Mother makes me feel these days.

  • RIP Andrea

Everything bar Hostages and The Mentalist would be renewed.

Why is “The Big Bang Theory” even on the list? About “The Mentalist”… I agree with the “about time” thing. There are series that carry an underlying search for someone, but the Red John stuff got too ridiculous. I stopped watching this season, after I had the deep-seated urge of entering the TV and surprising Jane while he mused about Red John, and kicking his bum all the way to Australia. Now that it’s over, what will Jane do? Maybe it’s time for the soap opera turn?

goodwife and mentalist canceled, elementary renewed, comedies are tougher if they end 2 and a half men and 1 other comedy it allows for 5 new hrs next yr

PLEASE CBS SAVE THE MENTALIST! Its one of the only shows that has a good twist to all the other crime shows! However I do feel as if you had to change the timing to Thursday, because since airing on Sundays it take a big hit with the football and if it was aired on Thursdays with most likely Two and a Half Men and The Crazy Ones to be cancelled, The Mentalist can easily fit in before NCIS and the rating will rise again with new exciting story lines.

  • Markitos

    The Good Wife!

  • Jon

I like elementary but to have it number one over shows like ncis criminal minds. Person of interest and big bang seems silly

  • Bob

Save NCIS, NCIS LA, Good Wife, The Crazy Ones, The Millers, Blue Bloods, Mike and Molly, Mom, The Big Bang, Person of Interest, Elementary.

Dump 21/2 Men, Mentalist (give a respectful ending), H50, CSI (Tired and they treat George Eads like crap).

  • Maria

[…]CSI (Tired and they treat George Eads like crap).

George Eads treats nearly everybody else like crap way too often by all accounts. If true, sounds fair he gets equal treatment.

  • jj

The Mentalist since it can go either way.

  • Networkman

I feel The Crazy Ones is going to get some Emmy love. It is the network’s first single cam. I don’t think the network will want to get rid of Robin Williams and Sarah Gellar that quickly. I voted that it gets renewed. It is doing fine behind The Millers. The Millers retention rate after The Big Bang Theory is too low. Also it seems many don’t want Two & a Half Men to return. I truly wish the producers would go in a new direction with the show for its last 12 episodes of the season. Can we see Alan’s growth?

Other bubble shows I would love to see return are Hawaii Five-O, especially now that Chi McBride is on board. And Blue Bloods is definitely a keeper.

not sure if cbs will cancel both sunday dramas…i think the mentalist is a goner…tgw has much more critically acclaimed and may receive some emmy noms this year…also its owned by cbs, so i have some hope it will be back…

tahm needs to end…way too expensive for the ratings its been getting this year…i think mom is coming back…i’d rather have the crazy ones back over the millers…but i think at least one of those is a goner…

obviously hostages will not be back…

Glad to see that “Elementary” has a big least in the poll (not that it has any effect in real life). It’s the only primetime CBS show that I watch and I really enjoy it. (The only other CBS shows I watch are “The Late Late Show” and occasionally “The Price is Right”).

  • anonTV

Forgot that I’ve been watching “The Crazy Ones” too, though unlike “Elementary” I wouldn’t really be disappointed.

  • KJ Styles

Keep: NCIS, NCIS LA, Person Of Interest, Criminal Minds, Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, The Crazy Ones.

    Can the rest

  • valerie

I love Hostages, don’t understand why it did not do better. I LOVE the Good Wife, have watched it from the beginning. I really like The Crazy ones and I didn’t think I would. I voted for NCIS but it is not in danger of being cancelled. I REALLY want The Good wife to survive. This season has been I believe the best yet!
