Each year, the President of the United States ceremonially pardons one or more turkeys from becoming part of the national Thanksgiving dinner. Now you can play the part of the President, and choose which CW ratings turkeys you'd spare from consumption by the Cancellation Bear. The big difference being, the turkeys that the President spares actually get to live, your choices (like every internet poll) are just for meaningless fun.

Every scripted show currently on the air for the CW is in the poll.

As they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

Why is The Carrie Diaries defacto canceled?

Fall premiere shows that receive a 13 episode order (veteran or rookie), and no follow on episodes are canceled. (note, Life Unexpected). There will be no announcement, as always, except the fact that it's left off the schedule announced in May.

With three seasons complete, the CW syndication gods will demand that Hart Of Dixie be renewed for a fourth season. Maybe it'll be a short one like Nikita's, or maybe not. The bear doesn't get into predicting episode orders.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

Notes:

  • - certain to be cancelled by May, 2014
  • - more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2014
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2014

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

  • Me

    Cancel B&TB already CW! :@

  • Hi

With BATB and HOD coming back to mondays, what is going to friday next year?!

  • Lucas Melo

    Reign on them!

  • Andrew43

As long as Reign returns next season, I’ll be happy.

  • Bad Wolf

    With Nikita at Death’s door, I’d save… nothing !

  • gerry

    @ hi

has the spring schedule been announced yet? i don’t see it anywhere…

  • Midnight

Save The Tomorrow People! To everyone who tried the pilot and didn’t care for it, the show has improved with every episode since episode 3. You can just start there and keep going.

  • Duarte

this shows how much people love Reign

  • BATBFan1226

Save Beauty and the Beast, Reign and the Tomorrow People!

  • Nasir

i would save TTP because it has a lot of potential, but the love triangle crap needs to go ASAP!

HoD just because it’s the little engine that could & I could see it doing well in syndication… Speaking of syndication, has there not been any announcements for a syndication deal for Nikita & TVD?

  • John A

Lol at Nikita so low on the index.

  • Dan S

Aside from Nikita the only other shows worth watching is Arrow & Supernatural.

  • 1976GG

Any & all of you BATB haters should watch S2 like its S1, we have gone completely back o scratch & the show is now soooo amped up its awesome…..believe me give it try, you might surprise yourself……..

  • Michael

I’m actually surprised, CW hasn’t already renewed Vampire Diaries for season 6 already. Nina Dobrev definitely deserves a pay raise, as well.

  • nicole

Delete immediately BATB because the show is boring and ugly and the actors are mediocre!!

  • Tran

Keepers: The Originals, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, The Tomorrow People and Arrow. Goners: Reign, Hart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast and The Carrie Diaries.

  • starship

Of the 5 shows in danger of cancellation, the only ones worth saving are Reign and Hart of Dixie (and yes I’m not a 100% sure syndication potential is going to save it). But, to pick one, I’d say Reign, it’s a great show with beautiful cinematography (and not just by the CW standards) + the story they’re making up is pretty interesting, it also seem to be growing in ratings which the CW should encourage by repeating all episodes over the holidays.
I’d have picked Nikita, but there’s no saving it at this point.

  • The Cool Max

Get rid of all CW shows, that would make my day.

  • allfrumthei

Most people will vote against BATB I imagine since its gets scorn anyway. But if there was a situation where they had to choose between two in last place either then I guess Beauty would get the edge because of the international sales (someone on a fanboard post a scanend article in last week’s EW where it pointed how well shows that struggle here do well overseas. Seems like in Spain its gettng 1.1 mil average)

its all moot really since it seems the CW will not be moving it to a Friday in the new year. And oddly The 100 and Tomorrow People will be on Friday.

  • THE OLD MAN

NONE OF THE ABOVE wasn’t on the ballot, so I didn’t vote
