Each year, the President of the United States ceremonially pardons one or more turkeys from becoming part of the national Thanksgiving dinner. Now you can play the part of the President, and choose which Fox ratings turkeys you'd spare from consumption by the Cancellation Bear. The big difference being, the turkeys that the President spares actually get to live, your choices (like every internet poll) are just for meaningless fun.

Every scripted show currently on the air for Fox, that's not already renewed, is in the poll.

As they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

Notes:

  • - certain to be cancelled by May, 2014
  • - more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2014
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2014
  • :) :) :) :) - more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2014
  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2014

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Since the article is between RH and Dads, I would choose RH because it is funnier. Someone at FOX doesn’t like the show because it is constantly moving around like Just Shoot Me only it was on NBC.

  • Why Watch

Most of the Fox comedies and animation are pathetic. How this network had devolved.

  • Charmed

Family Guy still hasn’t been renewed?

  • Kenny

    SAVE Raising Hope..Fox`s FUNNIEST COMEDY!!

  • paul

    B99 sucks!!!

  • ToXiX

    @paul

Don’t confuse B99 with your life.

  • kb

Why is mindy popular with tvbythenumbers crowd? It’s terrible.

  • snoot

New Girl, Brooklyn 99, raising hope, dads. Get rid of bones, it’s been on too long already.

  • Not Giving Real Name

I want Raising Hope! RAISING HOPE!!!!!!

It’s so much fun to watch! What’s the reason for cancelling Raising Hope? It’s a much better “family” show than Family Guy AND American Dad…

Almost Human – more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2014. That is worth a :)

Bones, New Girl, and Family Guy have the most financial reason to exist. The rest are disposable. I consider AH’s downward curve, this early in it’s debut, to be far more troubling than Bill does. I realize his metrics are standardized on averages and past performance, and with AH being new, it skews higher. Give it another three weeks (at the current rate of loss) and it will be into the bubble.

I feel Bones is the most beloved program on FOX right now. Anyways, there are shows that are obviously are coming back like New Girl. So, I’m pulling for Raising Hope. I don’t mind a final shortened season of 13 episodes. But in my opinion, it is a more quality program than Dads, The Mindy Project and New Girl. As far as first season shows, I’m definitely rooting for a renewal for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Also Almost Human has a lot of potential. Michael Ealy is a good actor. And the show is simply a great buddy cop show with some elements of sci-fi.

    Anything but Almost Human.

NBC really didn’t respect My Name is Earl. It was the comedy that put them back on the map after the departures of Frasier and Friends. Will & Grace was on its last legs. My Name is Earl helped The Office’s growth. Once My Name is Earl was cancelled, I felt the Thursday night lineup lost something. Yes, The Office and 30 Rock were still adore by the critics and were being nominated for Emmys but the network lost a particular audience that really appreciated what My Name is Earl brought.

I really hope FOX doesn’t make the same mistake. Raising Hope is more of a family comedy than New Girl and The Mindy Project. Similar to My Name is Earl, it has more of a rural aspect to it. I feel it is a great alternative to shows such as New Girl and The Mindy Project.

  • Robert Ford

I love Raising Hope and Brooklyn 99, while I really like the Mindy Project (I loved it last season but this season has just not been as good).
Raising Hope is dead, but it’ll have had four seasons, which is what My Name is Earl got. TMP might survive based on the fact that apparently a lot of young women with disposable watch it (otherwise it would be clearly dead), but I’m really rooting now for B99.

  • anonTV

FOX has the most shows that I watch:
    The Simpsons
    Family Guy
    American Dad
    Almost Human
    The Following
    Bones
    The Mindy Project
    New Girl
    Raising Hope
    Brooklyn Nine-Nine
    Sleepy Hollow

  • NimbusHex

New Girl and Brooklyn Nine Nine for sure, I’m on the fence with The Mindy Project and I think this season hasn’t been nearly as good as the first, Ike Barinholtz is the only one saving the show.

  • Dahne

Never realized how little I watch on FOX. The only show I really want back is Sleepy Hollow, and it’s already renewed. My vote goes to Raising Hope, but I’m over a season behind on that one currently.

  • Blake

Family Guy has already been renewed for season 13.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

“Family Guy has already been renewed for season 13.”

Not to my knowledge. Please provide a URL (minus the http://) to a credible news source.

Not sure why there is so much sheer hatred for Dads. It’s still pulling a 1.2-1.4 each week, that’s not 2.75% in this poll territory. You’d think it was getting a 0.5 with that much hatred. I like the show a lot, it’s consistently funnier than New Girl or The Mindy Project.
