Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast. For more information see Numbers 101 and Numbers 102.

Wish there was more support for Hostages, it is a great show but being up against the Blacklist and Castle is proving difficult. But, it is just 15 episodes so it does not matter if the viewership is down, it doesn’t have to worry about being renewed. But that may be why people aren’t tuning in?

  • Aly

I don’t think you can blame AH for SH falling. If people were only watching because they couldn’t bother to change the channel after Bones, that doesn’t speak very highly of the show.

Carl – It DOES feel dated. The special effects don’t (obviously) but the premise and the acting felt so 80s…and unfortunately it was more like Small Wonder and less like Night Rider.

  • Jon

@ Valerie people made their decision on hostages almost two months ago. Its not the type of show that would lend itself to people jumping on late as it is highly serialized in nature. The low ratings also kept anyone away who was on the fence as well. With these ratings it isn’t getting renewed. I do give Cbs credit for sticking with it. Lets just hope a proper series finale will be filmed for the sake of the fans.

They need to air almost human….outside of Monday football …. Period

  • gsevan

Yikes, those numbers for Fox look awful, so much for SH being the big hit of the season, and AH heading for 3rd season ‘Fringe’ numbers after 3 eps :(

  • Ultack

WTH? Finally an intelligent show such as Almost human comes along and the mass of morons prefer the insipid pile of crap Blacklist. I guess its to be expected among the legion of morons we created the last decades, they are way too dumb to appreciate an intelligent content, they can only relate to stuff their level, which is at an extreme low.

Shame about Sleepy Hollow, because this weeks ep was stellar! Creepy and edge of your seat type stuff. One of the best eps of the season.
