  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.0/5.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for  live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Refrain

It was always a small but vocal minority who clearly lacked Nielsen boxes to back up their boycott threats. No one truly believed the show would lose viewers this week ;)

    Rudolph takes down voice lol

  • jenna

Can someone please explain how Sleepy hollow is considered a ‘bonafide hit’ by some and yet Chicago fire isn’t? Don’t they have the same unremarkable ratings?

  • danny94

is that total viewers number for shield right? looks abit high

  • Red

CBS really threw Agents of SHIELD a lifeline there by going away from NCIS.

  • Guardian Owl

Yep, now CW just needs to get Mondays to work and they will be sitting pretty good.

  • AlanHalliwell

New girl Will do alot better with the Glee lead in next Febuay I feel it still a great show

  • Samunto

Chicago Fire held up well against increased competish from DWTS. Me still thinks it’s going back to Wednesday midseason with CRISIS launching Tuesdays.

  • Andrew43

Because Chicago Fire pulls the same numbers as Sleepy Hollow, without the high-rated lead-in ;)

  • Riley

Shield only skewed old because it was followed by dancing with the stars which always skews extremely old.

  • Raul

Great for ABC! The Voice should be ashamed that Dancing with the Stars beat it with viewers, I wonder if American Idol is gone to fall this season or be steady like DWTS… S.H.I.E.L.D. should get renewed and I never thought that the series would pass 9 million viewers again but it did!

  • Billiam

The fact that Rudolf got a 3.0 share tells us that the 8 pm timeslot is still dominated with families with kids — so, that is definitely a reason that Revolution hasn’t done well in the 8 pm timeslot this year…

  • Jeff (Canada)

SHIELD will get renewed, that was never an issue. Now, will it get renewed for a 3rd season next year? Probably not.

  • Dan

POI was incredible. The whole “Endgame” arc was absolutely tremendous. The only problem I have is that it’s not on Thursdays at 9 where it flourished the previous 2 seasons.

  • Terry

POI was way more violent and dark than previous episodes. Hopefully the orgy of shootings and torture will soon be replaced with interesting character explorations and dialog like it was before.

  • Grey

3.0 for “Rudolph?” Seriously? I’m assuming parents put their kids in front of the TV with the Neilson box while they watched a different set or streamed on their laptops.

  • The Cool Max

Great for Mindy and New Girl!!

  • Hel-luhr

Not sure that was what made SHIELD rise. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer hit nearly the exact same demo and numbers as NCIS last week. I think SHIELD has simply hit its ratings level, 2.3-2.6 ish.

  • jamie

mindy really doesn’t look that bad compared to the other fox shows… doesn’t really matter until spring tho anyway

  • Fred

Ratings are a lot higher than I expected for almost everything. So many people traveling and all.
Although Voice took a hit due to the DWTS finale.
    Still OK considering.
