“THE NFL ON CBS” EARNS HIGHEST NFL rating OF DAY HIGHLIGHTED BY DENVER-KANSAS CITY REMATCH

NFL ON CBS’s Regional Game Window Scores Its Highest Rating Since 2011

CBS Sports’ Week 13 national doubleheader coverage of THE NFL ON CBS on Sunday, Dec. 1, highlighted by the Denver vs. Kansas City rematch (4:25 PM, ET), earned an overnight household rating/share of 17.4/31, up 14% from last year’s 15.3/28 (Pittsburgh-Baltimore, Cincinnati-San Diego, Cleveland-Oakland).  The national doubleheader window this year also included Cincinnati vs. San Diego.

The 17.4/31 is the highest-rated NFL game window of the day on any network, including prime time.

CBS Sports regional action (1:00 PM, ET) scored an overnight household rating/share of 12.0/25, up 18% from last year’s 10.2/20 and was THE NFL ON CBS’s highest-rated regional game in the metered markets since a 12.2/25 in Week 12 of the 2011 season (Buffalo-New York Jets as the high coverage game; 11/27).

Yesterday’s 12.0/25 was THE NFL ON CBS’s highest-rated regional game-to-date in the metered markets in the 2013 season.  Regional games included New England-Houston, Tennessee-Indianapolis, Miami- New York Jets and Jacksonville-Cleveland.

    Good reason.

I believe San Diego, San Francisco, Cincinnati and Dayton were the only cities that did not see the CBS broadcast of the Denver/Kansas City game yesterday (December 1st).

And, the prime-time game on NBC (New York Giants at Washington) wasn’t all that appealing a match-up.

The most-watched game of the weekend will probably be tonight (December 2nd) on ESPN: Seattle hosting New Orleans in a possible NFC Championship Game preview.
