Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast. For more information see Numbers 101and Numbers 102.

@ Doug Blatt….. you seem to be addicted to television….

  • Michael

Hang in there, Nashville! I have hope, with renewal prospects. Lol!

  • Andrew

Even though Colton and Aras are gone I’m not happy that this season of ‘Survivor’ is having good ratings on some nights. CBS really could have done better than casting the two people I previously mentioned along with Tyson.

  • Crystal

Yea.. Glad to see Tomorrow People up a tenth. I hope it doesn’t drop in the finales. Last night was an excellent episode. They through in a nice twist. Also may I say yes thank god there was no John/Cara/Stephen crap as well. The need to nip that crap fast. The triangle will only sink this show.

  • Poppy

This is effin hilarious, since Fox took Bones off Mondays, they cant even break a 2.0 all week. Good going Fox!

  • Billiam

Good for Arrow and The Tomorrow People. I just hope it doesn’t adjust downward.

  • Brandy

@Maya, no it won’t.Either both get renewed, both get cancelled or One gets renewed.TTP has the most compatabile leadin yet declined every week for the first four weeks and only rose in demo once and fell when Arrow fell against WS.Reign has been more stable in ratings and risen in demo & stayed there a week later and when VD was down & Halloween ,Reign stayed stable.Reign does better in 18-34 & W18-34 and also does well online.
    Noo at TTP!
    Glad Nashvilles steady.

  • jupiter3765

listen i am dead serious the reason for all of abcs failures is because of them cancelling all my children and one life to live if they had not cancelled those soaps alot of shows on abc will be getting like big bang theory numbers the reason a lot of there shows are decling in the ratings is because of daytime soap fans boycotting because abc hurted their fellings really bad when there soaps were cancelled back in 2011

  • Douglas from Brazil

Sound of Music is on NBC, the special behind the scenes pulled in 1.1 last week, and there’s competition from TBBT opening the night and a Scandal revealing episode closing it.So don’t expect much above a 2.0 for SOM.

  • Brandy

@Maya also, with ANTM renewed and taking up a fall slot and TO,VD,Arrow,SPN,HoD(for syndication) certain renewals, that’ll leave room only for four new shows all next season.

  • jupiter3765

    and thats the bottom line

  • r0ckmypants

@jupiter3765 – “listen i am dead serious the reason for all of abcs failures is because of them cancelling all my children and one life to live if they had not cancelled those soaps alot of shows on abc will be getting like big bang theory numbers the reason a lot of there shows are decling in the ratings is because of daytime soap fans boycotting because abc hurted their fellings really bad when there soaps were cancelled back in 2011″

so happy to see tomorrow people up! also great for arrow!

i know its a slow decline and not going anywhere soon, but the slow demise of modern family is really bad news for abc… not great for nashville but at least it is steady.

if only it could be christmas every day over at nbc…

  • JJA

Arrow was excellent last night. Grant Gustin was a perfect casting choice for Barry Allen. I’m now 100% certain that “The Flash” will be on the schedule next year.

Also, there is NO “Reign v. The Tomorrow People” battle. There are TWO MORE shows entering this “battle “come spring, not to mention BATB. So it’s a lot more complicated that a mere two way battle.

  • Douglas from Brazil

What and when was the series low for Modern Family?

  • jupiter3765

its because of the abc soap opera boycott there are over 10 million soap fans boycotting abc at this very moment

  • PurpleDrazi

Flash episode did very well for Arrow. That plus all the positive reviews all but guarantees we will see The Flash on CW next year. (not that there was any doubt.)

  • Scandalicious

What is happening to Modern Family? It is such a great show. I really hope it can find its footing again. I really think ABC hurt their whole Wednesday lineup when they decided to not move The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife.

I am really happy for Survivor! It has been a great season and last nights episode was one of the best! Arrow and The Tomorrow People also did really well. It looks like a showdown between The Tomorrow People and Reign is in full swing.

  • Timmy G

Oh boy….this Reign vs. TTP war is fast approaching Chuck and Nikita nonsense levels.
