Sleepy Hollow November 11

via press release:

THE FOLLOWING Returns for Thrilling Second Season With

Special Preview Sunday, January 19, and

Season Premiere Monday, January 27

Hit drama SLEEPY HOLLOW will culminate its must-be-seen-to-be-believed first season with a special two-hour season finale event Monday, Jan. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, changing the second season premiere of last season’s No. 1 new series, THE FOLLOWING. The acclaimed thriller starring Kevin Bacon will unveil a special preview Sunday, Jan. 19, immediately after the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (live, 6:00 PM-CC ET), kicking off 15 heart-pounding weeks of uninterrupted episodes. The season premiere of THE FOLLOWING will now air Monday, Jan. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following an encore of the Season Two preview (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

In the first hour of the two-hour SLEEPY HOLLOW season finale event, “The Indispensable Man,” airing Monday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) discover a massive secret buried within the pages of George Washington’s Bible and unearth the shocking true nature of the founding father’s death. Meanwhile, Captain Irving (Orlando Jones) makes a near-impossible decision for the sake of his beloved family that drastically changes his future. Then, in “Bad Blood” (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the battle between good and evil comes to an explosive head – sacrifices must be made, worlds collide, loyalties are tested and the town of Sleepy Hollow will never be the same – resulting in a haunting first season finale.

Created by Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Dawson’s Creek,” the “Scream” franchise) and starring Golden Globe Award-winning actor Kevin Bacon (“X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Frost/Nixon”) and James Purefoy (“Rome”), the special Season Two preview of THE FOLLOWING, entitled “Resurrection” and airing Sunday, Jan. 19, immediately after the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (live, 6:00 PM-CC ET), catches up with RYAN HARDY (Bacon), in the wake of a horrific new murder spree, which furthers his suspicion that JOE CARROLL’s (Purefoy) reign of terror is far from over. The series, which will have its season premiere on Monday, Jan. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) following an encore of the preview episode (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), also stars Shawn Ashmore (the “X-Men” franchise) and Valorie Curry (“Veronica Mars”), and joining the cast this season are Connie Nielsen (“Boss,” “Law & Order: SVU”), Jessica Stroup (“90210”), Sam Underwood (“Dexter”) and Tiffany Boone (“Beautiful Creatures”).

    Bad move FOX

  • Christian

Wow.. that’s really dumb. And people like to complain that monkeys are running the ABC scheduling dept. They must’ve migrated over to FOX.

  • Sammy01

If Almost Human wasn’t dead already this schedule will confirm it. Airing an ep with a repeat and off the air for 2 weeks after only 2 episodes back. With its struggling ratings, the stop starting and being with a repeat wont help it at all.

  • Christian

Sooooo does that mean Special Preview = Clip show?

  • Laura

I’m curious if the encore on the 27th is a repeat of the airing on the 19th?

  • AllOfHerTw!st

As long as The Following premiere doesn’t conflict with The Mentalist timeslot, I’m good to go.

    Go Sleepy Hollow!

  • Christian

Yes, the write up above says that it is an “encore of the Season Two preview.”

  • AllOfHerTw!st

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.

  • Connman

    Who’s says the Devil is a ‘he’…

  • AllOfHerTw!st

Kevin Spacey, in The Usual Suspects.

  • Ram510

This is dumb and I can see The Following taking a tumble from last years rating and probably getting cancelled. Fox can find another show to air

  • Lucas Melo

I wasn’t really sure before, but now I am, the people that work for FOX are dumb, really dumb. Take care!

  • AllOfHerTw!st

A slight schedule shift is going to be the cause for the demise of The Following?

  • joel

Shoot. I had just given up on Sleepy Hollow as not worth a season pass, but it’s so close to season end and not as much else to watch in Dec.-Jan. that I may as well just keep going.

What?? What does a “special preview” even mean…. I swear FOX kills it’s own shows. Replacing Bones w/ Almost Human… Putting RH on Friday to die… Keeping Glee on Thursdays… 24 better not get f*** up by FOX or I’ll loose it.

  • j

I dunno if it’s a “bad” decision, but Fox’s constant scheduling shifts are way confusing for me. Like the Tuesday musical chairs for early 2014.

  • JR

Yeah, I thought the Bones move actually made some sense at first. Beef up Friday night a bit, and Sleepy Hollow should help AH to passable ratings for the first few weeks. If it clicks, you could have another hit. If not, it’s not like Bones was an absolute smash. All it would’ve taken was a few weeks of 2.2s to make the move a success. (And honestly, not knowing the demo breakdowns, it still might be.) But they’ve already yanked the anchor out in the third week, and now it looks like they’re going to get even more wonky with the sched. Guess I’m not seeing the gameplan here.

  • Kate

@Ram150 Uh seeing as how it was the highest rated new show of last year and Fox has very little that rates better than it, it would have to take a tumble of epic proportions to be cancelled this year.

Anyway, this is a stupid move. Putting The Following behind the NFC game would have been a huge boost.

  • Hardline_Pro

Imagine if FOX kills The Following by doing this…that would be a major fail on their part. I think The Following got better ratings than SH.

  • HeadlessHorseman

Any chance Almost Human had left has pretty much been extinguished with that schedule. That’s too bad. It’s a decent show. But as long as Sleepy Hollow comes back next year, I’m happy.
